What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

How do you like the process? I rode a 134 years ago and really liked how everything felt.

I need to tear apart my hardtail and move the parts over to a new frame and service everything on my main bike. Last season just kept going and I assumed every ride for a month was going to be the last, then I'd work on it, so it's in rough shape.

I really like the Process, that's the first year of the 2nd generation. I bought it new a year later with a great discount. It climbs well for what it is and is super fun when going down

I normally do this every winter, but last year I found a new hobby that kept my bench occupied all winter ...

I'm gettin' old. May be time to get one of those newfangled dual-pogo-boingy machines. Alas, I've moved from killer mountainous rides to an area where the biggest DH is the river valley. Time to get my Spot SS going again (& maybe stick a rigid fork on it), if my knees can hack it — I'm gettin' old!

If my knees grumble, I'll dust off the RM Experience — most fun bike I ever had, albeit a bit heavy by today's standards.

I've pulled many a trace, but never on one of the PPCB boards -- usually happens on cheaper boards. Either way, I usually opt for throwing things.

Right? I was a little impatient pulling the socket out. And i solder ~700 but even then I am impressed since I've heated a pad way longer without issue before.

I'll try to do the right thing and salvage the board... But after that comes the throwing things.

Wait until the EBC witch curses you on that lifted trace. Then throw to your heart's content.

There might be some mojo to go in here (waiting on boards and SMDs) that will turn the tide for me, but as much as people rave about the mids, there's not enough mids, and the low pass cuts too much off. Oh well, a' tinkering we go. Guess what it is. Or don't. I'm a nobody, not a cop.

@jessenator 's board came in today.
Going to have to take some liberties in regards to trimmer values and form(using 3296 with legs crossed).
Worked out. Going to sub s-trim with 2M 3296 and put a dipswitch in place of R4.

Hope this thing RIPS if for no other reason that I can put in a hot dog themed enclosure!

I’ve pulled a few in my time. Not hard to do on the old single sided boards.
But to pull one in on one of these PPCB multilayer boards with plates thru holes? I’d be proud if I could manage that… I think at that point I’d just laugh. What fun would this hobby be if we didn’t have little challenges like this from time to time

Is 4k7 too strong of a CLR for green LEDs? In real life the blue looks correct and the green is super dim.

You can't generalize, it depends on the specs of your particular model of green LED. Some can be far brighter than others at the same current. I'd experiment with various R values.

I think the problem is I bought These LEDs which are diffused when maybe I should have bought these instead?

That’s been my experience with red/green LEDs too.

EDIT: Blue LEDs seem to me to be far brighter than even their lumen value.

Blue often seems brighter than other values. So in addition to dropping the resistor feeding the green, maybe try kicking the resistor on the blue up to 6k8, or even a bit higher since blue can be blinding!

Maybe you should have considered LEDs made by a well-known manufacturer, with a fully defined datasheet that can be trusted with regards to brightness, viewing angle and so on... I can assure you that there exist blindingly bright diffuse green LEDs. They might cost $0.30 instead of $0.03 though... I've had LEDs so bright that I had to use an 15k resistor off 5V to bring them down to reason.

Passive A/B/Y box seems to work pretty good. Definitely a bowl of spaghetti!

I need to figure out how to light up both A and B when the Y switch is on.
