What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

That color is gorgeous. I think it'd also look superb with that bottom+side portion (can't think of what that bit is actually called) in semigloss black with black hardware blending in
I’m going to take that into consideration!

I have more Orange left over! I have sand black that I could try it with. I have to get more silver artery, after seeing @music6000 mockup with the silver bottom I think that’s the way to go!

I think you go one way or the other, just don't mix & match chrome & black — like Boss-style knobs with silver-centres and black grip area.

ALL chromey hardware including knobs, switches and bolts.
or
ALL black-out hardware, knobs, switches and bolts.

I think I'll go chrome for the build I'm thinking of, but that could change... all black looks killer, too. All depends on the theme...
The option to have either is there!

I’ll be honest I like the black bolts. It gives off this industrial look that I quite like…

Man, after seeing the silver vein with it I've gotta say it's quite appealing haha. I think my screen filter was shifting it more reddish to my sleep deprived eyes, looked a tad less Halloween-y, but that's on me. Still beautiful stuff you come up with

I think so too. That silver vein just makes all the colors look so good!

That orange is very intense. I can see how it can look red through certain phones. In person there’s more of a gold hue to it.

Too yellow on my screen. I liked your first example better. ORANGE!
Although, GOLD with the black is always a solid combo.

re silver vein.

I disagree with Steve.
I appreciated @music6000's mockup of the silver artery w/ orange, appreciated it because I was able to see I didn't like it.
Maybe with other colours, but not that orange.

I thought Music6000's black backing&sides w/ orange top looked FANTASTIC!
A flat black might work, but it might come across as greyish in bright light.
Vanta-black would be the bawmb, but that stuff is priced a gajillion times more than it's actually worth. Stupid greedy Vanta-black inventer; he'd be more rich if he priced it for the masses. :cautious:

Me too! Love it.

The gold looks a little beige on my screen, but so does some other gold enclosures I got from BLMS that look beige on camera but look fine (gold) on the naked eye.

The EHX-sized box is LOOKING GOOD!

While I've adopted my 120mm height paradigm, I'm willing to make exceptions... but, imagine that EHX-sized box scaled down to 120mm height by whatever width that scales to... hey? Eh? 😘

Hmm, any other J113 didn't actually improve the bypass at all. I'm now also thinking that it's not necessarily lower level, but it maybe just cuts bass in bypass mode. Hard to say which it is, the amp might also just get more bass when it's pushed a little more. I checked R5-7 and they are correct values, as well as C1-C2 that are in the bypass path. I guess I'll have to take it out of the box and resolder the joints, but I don't think that has ever really fixed weird issues like this for me.

Starting to remind me of the Viceroy build where I also struggled with low output from the same J113's, but just blaming the JFET's seems like a too easy solution.
