I built a bunch of 2x4 and 2x6 workbenches at an old job and I've done a few for myself.

Never did one that nice. Those half laps are great.
Thanks man! This is my first, I have goofed up a few times and there is still opportunities to screw this up, 😂 my goal was to build this thing the best I can. Hopefully it’s square enough I don’t have issues when I put the top on.

How do you like that little Joyo mixer?
It's nifty. All of my more recent demos have been through that. It interfaces directly with the phone, and I haven't had any issues on that front- no latency or overloading of the USB-C input. The reverb is pretty meh, and only has three preset levels

My only complaints are it seems a little too easy to overdrive the inputs at times, and the headphone out could stand to be a little louder.

@DGWVI So I got around to testing out all silicon transistors in my Harmonic Percolator. Turned it into the ultra dirty Percolator I think a lot of people are after. The range took a huge hit and it basically went from low fuzz to ripping fuzz at the top of the dial. I'm going to put those on a 3pdt toggle so I can have that flavor when I want it, but I'm sticking with the massive range I'm getting from the OG HP transistors.

Edit: I can get you hfe and tran numbers if you're interested when I head into my studio today

What's the gain on the PNP? The one currently in mine is around 90, but it's still got a decent amount of range. Lowering the value of the B-C 220k also helps, but I kept mine stock

I've got some more low gain PNPs on the way - hfe from 10-50 that I wanna play around with

Right on, looks like I'll have to screw around some more. I think I was using a BC179 and I think it was pretty high.

The BC179s I have range from about 100 to high 200s, most on the higher end, and they definitely squashed the range

So, back to ye olde soldering fume extractor. No matter how I place this sucker there's still too much goes straight up. It occurred to me that it would be easy to get a heavy steel base and a couple 16" long flex tubes (from eBay), a couple of brackets to fabricate and I should be all set to have my solder fume extractor OVER the soldering!!!! Ouuu..... I just had an idea. I can put LED's into the shroud to give me more light at the same time.

Ok! So a few more details to work out.

I did the same search "flex tubing" on AliExpress and all I got was sex toys, resistors and guitars. wtf?? :ROFLMAO:

Indoor all electric Homebrew guys sometimes make a stream hood out of flex duct(think dryer duct) and a cheap stainless mixing bowl. Vortex fan somewhere inline, vented to the outside world. Fanagle a LED T4 or T5 bulb in the bowl and Bob's your Aunt Pat, or something like that.

Or run a air hockey table in reverse.

Well the activated charcoal filter does an excellent job of catching/neutralizing the fumes that hit it, it's just impossible to get it close enough to catch everything. I think this will work..... That dryer duct is rather expensive and prone to damage from pets. I have dogs and cats. I did mull the idea around in my head first!
