I’m a huge fan of the Median. I’ve built and bought a ton of compressors and the Median has stayed on my board for longer than any of them. Super versatile, low noise floor, and it does it better than all the others I’ve tried. I recently ordered a second board of it so I can have one near the front of my chain and another near the end because I like what it can do in both places! In full disclosure, I f'd one of them up. When I checked it for continuity I had nothing on pin 8. I went to try to fix it and in the process destroyed the pin 8 leg. I mean it was completely gone! I still have no idea what happened.
I wound up subbing an OPA2134A in its place. The compressor is fantastic! Might be the best compressor I've built yet but still running it through its paces.
Looks very radio friendly!LectricFX Dandy Horse off the bench

I don’t think I’ve seen two in the same enclosure, that’s a cool idea.Just built my first pedal of the year. Damn it’s been a crazy one. Dual compressor for a friend. He didn’t want any graphics so I threw on some labels temporarily. Inside’s kind of a mess since I only had a few hours to do this today.

I'm running it at the end of my chain. I have a General Tso that's always on at the front. I thought I was the only one (not named Gilmour) that ran two compressorsI’m a huge fan of the Median. Did you build it to Dyna Comp specs? How's the noise? I bet it's pretty noisy with both sides on. I love the Aurora except for the noise floor.Just built my first pedal of the year. Those are pretty sweet looking! The Lightspeed (Mach 1) has been the first overdrive in my chain since I built it a couple years ago.mini Lightspeed overdrive has left the workbench already
Ya, it’s definitely pretty noisy with both on at the same time. I warned him that it would most likely be the case, but he said go for it. It can be tamed a little bit by adjusting the volume on one and adjusting the treble switch, but it’s still there. He said he’s got a certain application for it in his studio, so I guess he knows what he’s doing.Did you build it to Dyna Comp specs? How's the noise? I bet it's pretty noisy with both sides on. FWIW, the Chase Bliss Clean (which is very quiet) apparently also had noise issues during development, but they implemented some sort "Emphasis filters for cassette-style noise reduction" which helped. I wonder if anyone has tried to do something similar in the DIY space? Or is it not worth the effort and possibly big component count?Ya, it’s definitely pretty noisy with both on at the same time. As for the build- I stuck with the Aion’s build and will maybe swap it over if my friend wants to try something different with it.
Before I started DIYing pedals, I used to run my Diamond Bass comp at the front of the pedal chain and my Cali76 at the end.I'm running it at the end of my chain. I have a General Tso that's always on at the front. I thought I was the only one (not named Gilmour) that ran two compressors![]()
Maybe you should consider a switch to decaf.Type II to Type I switch surgery complete. Only sacrificed one. First one would have been okay had it not exploded while I was holding it in a a pair of pliers (and the base ended up in my coffee cup).
Will it keep my tone transparent and clear enough without too much of parallel squish? How it affects lo/hi mids? And please be honest, what about phase issues?A clean-blend at the beginning of your pedalboard, with the INTERNAL BLEND-TRIMMER set to fully clean, the clean that is the SOLE output of the entire pedalboard...
