Chuck D. Bones
Circuit Wizard
Fig has been having so much fun doing this that I thought I'd give it a whirl.
The Prize: A Celestial Engineering Breadboard. In addition to this beautifully hand-crafted breadboard & bracket, the winner will receive parts and a schematic so you can breadboard one of my crazy creations.
The Challenge:
Design a pedal circuit that can be built on a Muffin board that is NOT a Big Muff. You don't have to use all of the pads and you don't have to actually build it on a Muffin Board. You can breadboard it or build it on Vero, but it must be something that could be built on a Muffin Board. A simple example would be an LPB. The entry should include as a minimum, a schematic with parts labeled using Muffin Board reference designators. Any addition parts will have Ref Des starting with 200. Photos of a breadboard, perf, Vero, or Muffin Board build are encouraged but not required.
The rules are few and they are simple:
1. As previously stated, it must be something that could be built on a Muffin Board. You don't get to butcher the board, which means no trace cuts or additional holes. You can use jumpers and mount parts any way you like, within reason.*
2. The circuit can be a direct copy of a production pedal, however creativity is encouraged.
3. It has to work. I will breadboard the candidate winners, so it would be a good idea to use parts that I have or can readily obtain.
* Gluing a bunch of ICs to the board and/or making an air-circuit will not impress the judges in a positive way.
Points will be awarded for creativity and elegance. It doesn't have to be complicated. Out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged.
The contest starts now and ends at 11:59pm PDT on St. Valentine's Day. Enter as many times as you like.
