More ciabatta making! I’m getting a nice oven spring with these but I feel they could be even more airy. Maybe I’ll increase hydration next time.

It's currently 33 degrees centigrade here. Doesn't make too much sense to me to follow the traditions of countries where it snows at this time of year; hence a simple smoked chicken salad with some exotic tomatoes and leaves for lunch seems to do the trick.

Just took this out of the oven for tomorrow's Christmas meal.

I can't do the "pretty" edges thing but I'm sure it will be tasty with a scoop of ice cream or cheddar cheese on it.

Christmas Day menu will be herb crusted Standing Rib roast, Dill Horseradish sauce, mashed taters and gravy, fresh green beans.
(and Apple Pie for dessert)

Looks like pearl sugar, I use that on cardamom buns/ cinnamon rolls. It's very Scandinavian to use pearl sugar instead of icing.

Swedish Pearl Sugar. It was not what I intended, I thought I was getting "sanding sugar". But it works.

Ham slow cooked in black treacle. This has been cooking for 16hrs and has just come out of the oven. We'll have the usual roast potatoes, stuffing, honey Sesame glazed Carrots and parsnips with it. Excuse the poor photo, I was backlit by the window.
