What's your current headache?

I don't need a gold plated small stone but goddamn it I want one now that EHX showed it to me.
I'm going to skip this particularly bougie trek down memory lane, having owned an original v1 before and let it go.

1/4" mono male to 3.5mm stereo female adapter. Sounds simple enough, but by Golly, this was HARD to find!
Mono to mono: easy enough. Stereo to stereo: trivial. Mono to stereo? The rarest isotope of Unobtainium. All I want is to be able to plug 3.5mm headphones into a mono 1/4" output and have sound in both ears. Am I asking for too much??

I spent a couple of hours, scoured AliExpress, Tayda, eBay (yeah, they have it if you want to pay like $5 apiece + shipping). Finally found it on Newark.

I made a mess today incorrectly seating second preamp tube. Didn’t notice bent tube socket cathode pin insert before it was too late.

Quick inspection gave these problems to fix:
-v2 cathode bypass cap leaked electrolyte goo (time to go from 25uF to 1-5uF)
-something wrong with power tube bias as red plating occured

Guess it’s time to do cap’n’resistor job while fixing things. Got to hope there isn’t much more to troubleshoot.

time was you could just walk into radio shack and that was hanging from the wall ... used to be a proper country

Omg that’s so strange! What’s a hydronic loop?

In my application, a piping system in which water is used as a heat transfer fluid.

This is an open loop that uses evaporative cooling to disperse heat: a cooling tower.

Steel piping on the mains, copper on the branches. Galvanic isolators in between, and generally we try to passivate the steel as much as possible. But...well, whomever was handling the water treatment on this job let it go for quite some time without maintaining the chemical feed of rust inhibitor and biocide.

Three buildings, all of the cooling tower loop piping hard to be pulled out and replaced. They elected to keep their previous water-cooled heat pumps that were fed from the old loop in place...I've been flushing this orangey-brown detritus out of their heat exchangers for the last couple weeks here.

my current headache is knowing that Les Paul and Taylor Sheridan were in a Coors commercial together.

I fucking hate job interviews. Always have, always will. Luckily, my last job interview was over 10 years ago. Unluckily, my next job interview is in about 8 hours or so and I haven't been able to get to sleep yet.
I do too. I try to answer questions, ramble and then forget what I was asked.

Yeah, same. I prepare answers beforehand but forget half of them during the interview, so it just turns into incoherent ramblings :D Anyway, the interview went well. I was asked a single question and the rest of the talking was done by the manager. That kind of interview I could get used to.

That’s awesome.

Real headache: tariffs. U, S and A is about to tax imports from Canadia 25%. With friends like this, who needs enemies?

There goes 90% of JTEX's business. Unless the tariffs don't apply to mail imports that fall below the $800 duty-free limit that Americans enjoy.
