What's your current headache?

Minute headache:
Damn diy gold recovery bros are literally melting down good vintage and JAN transistors by the pound.
Both diminishing supply and raising prices of raw unsorted mojo.
Best case, for plated transistors, $360 in gold/imperial pound.

One small annoying thing about English compared to Finnish is that the equivalent for "head" is used both as "head" and as "end" (English has a massive vocabulary compared to a lot of languages), so you can make puns about "bottom head aches" basically. But no way I can think of to do something similar in English.

What I'm saying is that I had a vasectomy done yesterday and I would like to make a pun about it. Thankfully it's not very painful when at rest and I work in IT remotely, but all movements have to be very careful.
When I got mine done a few years ago they gave me a bag of almonds with a note that said "go home and enjoy your nuts". The pain is temporary but it's definitely worth it, congrats dude. Tight underwear and ice packs got me back to normal in a couple days.

4 weeks, 2 technicians, having to find the leak myself, multiple calls to both the repair company and the warranty company to fix my fucking dishwasher and then to have our main transportation (2016 Honda Odyssey) vehicle that just had major repairs done this past summer, throw almost every GD warning light on the dash including the flashing check engine light to let you know it’s serious. And of course we have 4 kids plus a carpooler to get 3 different places in a short span of time tm morning. Fuck this I need to get drunk

Switched to KiCAD V9. Spent some time getting things set up since it doesn't import settings/libraries from V8.

They seem to have dropped (or hidden?) the option to plot Gerbers with only values or only references! 🤮

In country, I'm stunned and scared as well.
And that the orange guy's party has lost all courage is also absolutely stunning.
The emperor has no clothes, and they don't want to admit it.
It's ultra-Orwellian, and reminiscent of the Manchurian Candidate.

The news. Why do I keep following the news? If I didn't, I wouldn't be pissed off right now. I'd just be comfortably numb.

I used to want to be a journalist and for most of my life consumed as much news as I could get my hands on. In maybe 2014? I decided to just stop completely. It’s been incredible for my mental health. The big stuff trickles down to me just from conversations or social media but it’s truly incredible. I still don’t know what hawk tuah is.

We all probably know the general criticisms of journalism serving business interests, etc etc but it’s not always the easiest to internalize it to the point of just not caring about it. Just saying, it’s worth trying.

Edit: sorry for the preachiness of this reply lol

I do enjoy reading and listening to Heather Cox Richardson to explain goings on with no bias and actual facts.
