Of course you can like what color you like for whatever reason, but claiming it's not pretentious instantly makes it... hipstery? I could argue it's the most pretentious option instead, if you frame it like that.
You're missing the point, my friend. The lack of an aesthetic is itself an aesthetic. Green has been the standard color for PCB's for a while and when you see one it looks like a normal circuit board. Deviating from that normalcy implies some sort of additional thought process, which to some can be seen as pretentiousness."Which of these aesthetic options is best to you?"
