Where to get components

I am running into issues with finding components for the abyss apparently I ordered the wrong photo resistors for it and then read tayda's were way out of spec. So where do I find the KE-10720 photoresistors and the MPSA 18 transistors which I just forgot to order.

Okay so I have the transistors on the way but finding a photo resistor with the same specs isn't gonna be easy the best I've found is 10-20k light and 1m dark can't seem to find aone with 500k dark that is 10-20k light

Funny thing is I ordered a pack with those in there the GL5528 they are close to the same but not the same they are a 1m dark and the KE-10720 is a 500k that's 500k different is that going to affect the circuit

Try them out and let us know if it works! KE-10720 has been out of stock for quite a while now - doesn't seem like those are coming back.

Will do. I will start a thread when I get all the parts to complete the build. Until then I guess I will build the Ceasar chorus which was the next build I was going to do I do have all the components for that. Anyone ever put a gain stage breakout on one of those. Don't think its the right kind of circuit for it. If anyone has comments on that let me know.

Maybe the GL5516 instead then? https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/a2002/

The tricky thing with the photo resistors is that the rise and fall time can also be different, but in a world of vanishing components you have to take what you can get sometimes or pay extortionate prices for NOS stuff.

Basically in this circuit these are for a modulation effect if I am correct this is why the led is in the middle of these on the board but somebody can correct me if I am wrong

It looks like a tremolo effect where the LDRs are used to variably shunt signal to ground, I would say the difference between 500k and 1M is likely to be small in this circuit, though will probably affect slightly the perceived maximum "depth" of the effect.

It's important to think about ratios in audio though, the difference between 250k and 500k would be quite noticeable, but the difference between 500k and 1M much less so.
