Who’s getting what 25% off!!

Sorry to hear that you are still having some distortion even after making both of those changes. Have you tried adjusting the trim pot further? It really is a very very tiny space in the trim pot throw where there is phasing without distortion.

Thanks for the history on this and your previous post - I do a lot of searching on topics like this and I'm sure I got your information while I was troubleshooting.

I'm building the Aion Emerald soon and thinking about getting an oscilloscope (and signal generator) to have a more scientific approach to setting the trimmers with waveforms. While I found that adjusting the trimmer up/down past the audible sweet spot made some differences in the distortion, I couldn't get it to disappear during the "swooshing" on slower rates.

Well, actually, I'm getting 30% off. Now that my wife is passed away, I have to buy my own freakin' underwear so I can gift wrap it and put it under my Christmas tree.

My, underwear has certainly become expensive, and yeah that price is AFTER the 30% off.......................

Not wanting to derail the thread with more phase 95 details, but...

After testing with a cheap signal generator and o-scope, I was able to compare the output of my XC build vs. an actual MXR Phase 95. I based the testing procedure roughly on the Boss PH-1r service manual. I'm getting signal jitter with my build that I do not witness on the o-scope with the real pedal - regardless of the bias setting/range. I attempted adding a capacitor (a bunch of values) from the op-amp supply reference to ground with some minor improvement, but could not eliminate the jitter enough to make an audible difference. Probably going to put this one on the bench a while and try the Phase II and Aion Emerald builds to compare.

Is it audible? What does it sound like?

There is audible distortion that isn't like normal clipping, especially in block mode of the phaser and more prevalent as the swoosh cycles from up to down or down to up (if that makes sense). I'll see if I can record a video of the signals and the audio the next time I setup the signal generator and o-scope on the Phase 95 vs. the XC build.
