You'd think for the price, the shipping would be free...

In a Free Market, it's worth whatever the next sucker buyer will pay.

That one is way cool. I dig the purple paint job and the fact that it doesn't have a battery door. Those things are always falling off and getting lost.

From what I can see on the board, the resistors are all carbon film. The 220nF caps are plain vanilla film. Couple of other film caps in there, must be the 10nF input & feedback caps. Note the complete lack of Tropical Fish caps. Transistors are TO92, probably the usual MPSA18s. Choke looks like a Fasel toroidal core. Can't tell if the wah pot is original. That cap lying down in the lower left corner must be the 4.7uF cap. If there is any special in there that affects the tone, it's the choke. Is that stomp switch original?

I picked up two used Crybabys this week on eBay. One is a GCB-95. Bought it for the case & pot. I have a Tearjerker board that's going in with one or two little mods. The other is a 535Q. I'll run that stock for a while, but it will eventually get a modded Tearjerker board as well. Neither one set me back 4 figures.

I want to make bottom plates with no battery door. I'm thinking of using aluminum diamond plate.

I still haven’t made my tearjerker...
I need to make it...
Which inductor are you gonna use?¿

I have a couple Stack-of-Dimes inductors (had 'em a looooooong time, no recollection of when, how or why I obtained them), so I'll put one of those in. They measure 33Ω & 660mH, so they should have a nice high Q.

There will be an 8-position rotary switch for selecting the Range, an external Q control, an external Gain control and a Gilmour switch. I'll probably stick with MPSA18 trannys, although the thought had crossed my mind to use a 2N1308 for Q1 🤪.

Oh yeah I remember you telling me about those old stack-o-dimes you had...

yeah I’ve still got a lot of those 1308’s left too...
Might sound good??🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a germanium wah now that I think about it???
Is that a thing?¿
Have you tried it?¿
Seems like someone would put some tropical fish caps and some germanium transistors and charge $1,000 apiece... lol

Given that the transistors are supposed to stay in the linear region, I doubt that Ge would sound any different provided the biasing is correct.
