Help I’ve got Gas…

A little light on acoustic Guitars don't you think?
There's only one out right now. That's my Martin Custom Shop OM-18. Koa back and sides, Adirondack spruce top, ivoroid binding and a B-W-B purling. There's a couple more in the closet in their cases and strewn about the house. My other "good" acoustic is a custom OM made by John Allison. It's a Carpathian Spruce top. Indian rosewood back and sides OM style that's similar to a Collings OM (John worked at Collings for a long time).

There was a point when my acoustics outnumbered my electrics but the pendulum always swings one way or the other with fickle gear heads like me:)

As do I find myself. I‘m down to a travel-size, albeit a sweet one. I’ve been meaning to ask for some input from y’all….except maybe @Diynot….that brings images of young guitarists tied to a large maple neck emerging from a base of accelerant-soaked Martin & Taylor bodies, and a strat-slinging DIY’r. dancing about wildly screaming “burn the witch”!

Maybe I‘ll just browse the online reviews……

My first guitar, the one my parents made me learn on, was an Alvarez 12 string acoustic. Talk ab some bloody finger tips and massive hand cramping. May be the root of my aversion to the acoustic. Kidding. I have several acoustic instruments including a seagull guitar (acquired free from a co worker). Certainly nothing fancy mind you.

I feel much better now

DAMNIT, MF is having a sale. So tempted... Even though the sale is just doing the old price. Not sure if I would love or hate this color. UGH. GAS Sucks.

GAS is funny (not that kind of gas…that’s funny in a different way). If often hits out of the blue, randomly, and if not acted on, will disappear just as suddenly as it arrived. Sometimes it cycles. For me, it’s usually CV Mustang > LPB Mustang > Pelham blue SG Special > SG Jr > and then repeats. Other times, all I can think about it’s a Godin 5th Avenue…remember them?…

It for sure cycles, I was able to get away from this desire, the 335, by just playing my JM with the tone knob down a bit, but I keep coming back.

Just try to get a deal on the es 335 traditional pro at guitar center. I played one and it sounds good and plays well. It goes on sale for 450 sometimes. And it also has some cool color choices.

A JM was the guitar I never knew I needed. Never really had any interest in the Jazzmaster, nor was I ever really into anyone who played one. One day I got the itch and a week later I had one. And thats that. I play it all the time. Between that and my LP, I don't feel I need anything else...but then theres that Godin 5th Avenue...
