New Tayda metallics!

Welp, time to order one of each. I'm personally not the biggest fan of gold unless it's real (dear god that sounded so bourgeois) but the light gold and dark gold both look sick. Chromium and champagne look like knockouts
Time to start calling you bougiebybougie lol

Gold isn’t usually my first inclination, but I’ve been wanting it for a while for a very special Klone I’ve had kicking around the back of my mind for ages, as well as for some sort of C-3PO pedal for my Star Wars obsession, since… yeah

The champagne looks absolutely gorgeous and should be perfect for some Delay units I’ve had designs kicking around for, and the chromium seems like the absolute ideal option for me for a certain build I’ve been holding off on for a long time due to the fragility of the ball silver— the chrome is closer to the type of look I was going for anyway, and now I don’t have to go with the winked silver, which looks too busy for the design I was going with (I still love the winked silver, but not for this design)

The winked silver is sharp but it really is super busy like you said, and I didn’t take that into account enough when I designed a print for it. Text is pretty hard to read at the sizes and weights I do for other enclosures

Dang no predrilled enclosures in those finished listed yet. I was just about done justifying to myself a $50 dice roll of an order on one of each

They literally just added the enclosures when I posted last night. They’ll probably be available soon.
I had checked Tayda’s colors earlier yesterday and they weren’t even there yet, and then when I saw them last night and posted about them, they still weren’t available for 1590bb or 1590b, but now they’re all available for 1590b and only one or two is missing from 1590bb. Probably just a short matter of time before 1590DD and XX are added, as well as pre-drilled options

Lol yeah I figure they'll be up any second, I just meant that this justification probably only has a half hour life span left lol

I also bought a winked silver and it looks great, but I don't know how well it would fare with a UV print, unless it was a lot of solid black.

I'm curious if the chromium is good alternative to ball silver, since that one scratches at the lightest touch.

I did a softii build and print with winked silver (is it fucked up that I think we should all just agree to call it silver glitter btw?) and I definitely have a few take aways for anyone (and also myself) for printing on it. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/pedalpcb-softii.12548/#post-134582 the photos on my build report aren’t representative of how it catches the light IMO

the contrast between the uv print and finish isn’t comparable to any other Tayda finishes that I’ve done. I think I’ve used every color except for the hammered brown.

You have the high brightness glitter as it catches the light, and the mid tone silver fighting eachother to be the dominant background color. If I were mocking up a design to print on it today, I would use a simple halftone dot pattern as my mockup background instead of a solid color. I’d also have sized all text up by 1pt and gone one weight bolder for the font, and have tried to incorporate more color for more contrast

I also bought the brown glimmer and I can confirm that the sparkles are tiny enough to where it wouldn't affect your design (assuming you picked colors that work with brown). Also worth mentioning it's low-saturation, somewhere between brown and gray.

Looked like sort of a gunmetal sparkle to me in the pictures I saw. Would you say it’s like that in person?
