The nut broke on my tele recently- cracked right in half under the 4th string slot. So I decided it was time to learn to cut a new one. That's what I'm working on today. There's a first time for everything

I had a Hwy1 Tele many years ago. Sorry I let it go, those were GREAT guitars at a GREAT price.

I used to cut nuts and saddles from blanks......then I said "screw it" and started ordering roughed in saddles and nuts.
I actually ordered a Fender branded nut for my Jazzmaster, it dropped right in with tiniest bit of thinning and it was "almost" dead on.
Very little slotting needed.

This is my curse. I gotta DIY everything. If I start buying roughed in nuts, next thing you know I'm gonna be using automatic heat or something

But I've been doing nuts and saddles for 25 years and there's really no satisfaction for me to DIY it all anymore.
Since my belt sander died a few years ago, I'd rather be playing than shaping nuts with a file hah!
I do still have a ton of bone blanks though.

I've got an Aion ODR1 legacy board on my bench that I haven't been able to finish up yet. I realised I don't have any 2n7 caps and I also ran out of solder. I ordered some more earlier in the week which should have been here days ago but our postmen were on strike for 2 days and there seems to be a backlog on the mail. Fingers crossed it gets here today.
I've also just realised I bought that board 6 years ago

W00t the postie has been and my solder has arrived so I can crack on with finishing this board tonight.
Edit - Damn the ODR1 is a fine sounding pedal. This is definitely getting boxed up.

Thumbsucker, Desolate fuzz, and @Chuck D. Bones and @cooder Electric mama flanger. No BOM? No problem. First TL072 went on pretty easy, the second is ugly, but attached. Have to wait and see if I fried the poor buggers.
