What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

My MKI sometimes makes rumbling noises. This thing has a life of its own. And the trannies aren't particularly leaky either.

I have another one on a breadboard with super leaky Germaniums and this thing is twice as loud and bright but half the time it just oscillates like crazy. What a wild beast!
I am having fun. Going a little bonkers with all the combos of transistors and sounds, but having a lot of fun. I agree - this circuit is a living, feral creature!

Love the mat, I desperately need to get one. I’ve basically destroyed 2 different desk tops now.
I love it. Prior to being gifted the Weller mat, I was using a silicon baking mat from the grocery store, which worked great, but I like having the little lip to help keep parts from falling over the edge

Breadboarding the Animals Diamond Peak with Chucks Mods. Going to be making this into my first circuit board. So far so good just need to look over everything and make adjustments before i run power thru it!

I’m rocking the ProtoBoard too! And testing a bunch of clipping diodes. I need to make some kind of dedicated multi-functional/selectable setup.

I'm set on my adjustments to the Junk Trunks, but I'm still debating if I wanna go with the Gas Tank or something else
... Aaaannnd, I'm out of switching jacks 😔:ROFLMAO:

Decided the Gas Tank is probably the best neutral drive to go with these. I need the switching jacks so I can have an FX loop between the fuzz and filters and an fx loop attached to each of the sends of the Paralyzer

Finally had about 90 minutes tonight to actually do some assembly and soldering! It’s hard taking care of a house and four dogs and 10 cats and my wife’s rat all by myself
While your turret skills are admirable, I'm most impressed by your ability to keep a rat alive in a house with four dogs and ten cats.

Please post a build report for the scale model of Fort Knox that you must have built for the rat!

The rat "Baby" lives in my late wife's bathroom, my wife set up a 'poo box' full of wood shavings that I change once a month, there's an exercise area with various rat-ercising devices, a food area with water to drink, a large pan for baths and dried cat food.

Once a week I bring in a special treat tray with dried blueberries, a few cashews, some chicken, lettuce and tomatoes, celery - no onions, not good for rats.

She's a very tidy rat, not much to clean up after since she uses her bathroom and never goes anywhere else!!! (Thank god). If I forget to bring the special treats she tosses stuff off shelves, etc.

When we were saying our goodbyes my wife made me promise to take care of the animals AND DON'T FORGET THE RAT she said with an "or else" attitude.

And on that note it's time to clean the litter boxes, check the water and dry food bowls, and get the mop 'cus someone threw up in the kitchen.... cats....

Where are you getting your components from? I just got a chassis and boards from Weber and am going to start collecting parts for a Champ head build.

I always start each build by drawing the components, and board in Visio. I have a full library of resistor and capacitors with actual size dimensions. Then I draw the layout, start a new blank page and copy the layout to that page, and delete everything except the turret positions. Then I print that out, and use elmer's glue stick to stick it to a piece of G10 than I've cut on my diamond tile saw, then I drill and swag the turrets in. I've had the resistors for a couple decades, but I bought these capacitors from www.cedist.com the wholesale sister site of www.tubesandmore.com. The MOD caps are *extremely affordable* dry electrolytic caps that are available in 50-60's values. The Sozo caps I've never tried, this is the first time. I have about 35 pounds of NOS paper in oil caps, Russian aluminum foil caps, and mustard caps but instead of using those I wanted to try these to see how they compare with real NOS.
