Rainger FX on tps

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but it's pretty cool for sure. I find the nontraditional shapes pretty slick, because I always look at the enclosure thinking, "this would be a lot cooler if it wasn't in a rectangular box." When there are thousands of the same, why not be different? If I had a welder, I'd totally make different shaped enclosures, but for a hobby, it's just as easy to pay five bucks and put a pretty picture on it.

Rainger was on JHS several years ago and had some interesting stuff to say about branding that I enjoyed. I'm not ever looking to buy pedals, but I like that his are in unique enclosures and have a unique vibe
Definitely stands out from the others. Half of me regards pedals as tools and doesn’t care what they look like, and the other half wants them to be cool as hell. Does an awesome looking pedal make you play better? Maybe. Does it sell better? Probably.

He was a builder I'd never paid attention to before but I'd love to try some of those pedals. I've gotten really bored with lots of tps episodes these days but really enjoyed this one.

Yea, I’m kind of tired of all the boutique cork sniffery, and the constant droning on about how wet/dry and true bypass switchers are the only ways to get good tone…if you’re a Dad, anyway…

Yeah I know what you mean. The only episodes I really enjoy now are the ones where they feature different amps or the guitar modding vlogs.

I had seen something about them a few years back and just felt that the products seemed too gimickey. And maybe some still feel that but after seeing him talk on them I feel there couldn't be a more genuine place to come from with experimental pedals.

TPS has changed, and I still watch a lot of the episodes but in an oversaturated industry these guys are burnt out on another drive pedal. I am surprised Dan is still doing it. I can just see him *sigh* inside (and sometimes outside) every time he needs to cover the same buzz words and topics and blah blah blah. I agree the amps are the reason to stay. Just to get to play those every week for an hour would be bliss.
