I get berated about the basement (and my office) as a whole far more than the detritus of a particular hobby...
I find my basement to be a wonderland of creative potential... thank you very much...

Luckily I only can remember 6 bands at any given time. I’ve resisted the allure of vinyl for a solid 10 years until this lmao
I have a friend that has a psychotically obsessive vinyl collection, and an absolutely ridiculous listening room in his basement. I've been moved to tears by listening to 70's recorded rock albums there. like soul leaving the body via the eardrums...

My best friend’s collection is ~10,000 and has a room like this. Probably the only reason I’ve been able to hold out so long is that I feel like I vicariously have his collection

I knew it! 🤣

Does Smallbear still have the pinion gear for the dual-gang pot in the Parasite? I know they had em a couple years ago but then went out of stock (along with the enclosures) for a while.

Those black powdercoated wah enclosures look sharp, I'd love to see some pics when you open one up.

I may or may not have grabbed the dual-gang pot from SmallBear way back when, I'll have to hunt through my wah-parts stash for it.
Currently out of stock of the Ibanez WH-10...

I unbuttoned the enclosure I set aside for the TearJerker, just for you...

As you can see, most of the bits are already assembled into it: felt pad for the footswitch, rack, clutch, but the gear is of course not but cleverly tucked out of the way. The pin that holds the foot-treadle to the pedal is robust and as mentioned previously the whole kaboodle is hefty — feels very solid and I anticipate it will handle abuse much better than the cheapo kit from TaoBao (Alibaba and shops that carry it such as SB, Amp'd Parts etc).

If one can find a deal on a used wah, then one has got the jacks, wiring and what-not hasn't one? — likely for cheaper. I'm still very satisfied for the sale price, I get something that will only be abused by me, without unknown issues. Wait, what am I saying, I've got plenty of issues, I meant the wah-shell doesn't have unknown issues. At least, not yet.

...

I have the BBE Ben Wah (Vertex shamster) and it's a pretty decent wah and covers a lot of bases.
You meant "basses" right? "...covers a lot of basses."

So what inducdoohikie did you use?

I built the sham wah and it indeed fucks. my favorite wah that I have played by far.

Same question, which inducthunder? Stock and true to the Sham?

I have the BBE commercial pedal, it was cheaper second hand than shelling out (pun intended) for the wah shell.

Over the years I've had many housemates or fellow band members with huge LP collections. When I was just breaking into legit jazz gigs our keyboard player would often make time during or after rehearsals to play a few select cuts or whole sides, so much more fun and satisfying than doing a YouTube dive to get a feel for the more obscure tunes. He wrote his own charts for at least half our book too, good times.
