Anyone going to NAMM this year?

I'm pretty much just going to make this same post every year :P

An artist I've been working with on a signature pedal got me a badge again this year, so I'm going to be hanging out. I don't have a booth (maybe next year, I don't know) but I'll certainly be wandering around ogling the gear and talking to my fellow nerds for a couple days.

Anyone going to be there? We should hang out :)



On a semi-related note, the pedal I'm working on for the aforementioned artist is almost ready, what I hope will be the final PCB was just delivered at my house an hour ago. We're hoping to have something announce-able for the show. I've spent more on the R&D of that pedal than a NAMM booth would have cost me, and he and I both think it was worth it, it's a neat little box 🎸

I'd have to decide in the next few days, but I don't have an easy ready made solution in place for freebie booth space and badging this year, so I think I'm gonna target next January instead. Jan. is just a much more attractive time of the year to get outta town for me.

In the past there was a big pedal maker's collective booth that a friend bought into, it seemed to work pretty well for him since he wasn't chained to being there all day.

I reached out to them, I didn't care for the price they were quoting me and decided against it. Tony has said there are people he could connect me with for sharing a booth in the future, I just didn't give him enough notice this year.

And January is definitely a good time for me to spend a few days in southern California as well, I've been freezing for months :P I love Chicago and I enjoy living here, but I'm still a California boy at heart, I don't do well in the cold.
 
Lovely place full of lovely folks and perhaps the king of beef sammiches. It's just soooooooo cold... and the pnw isn't exactly known for warm weather. Y'all definitely have us beat on the snow plows though. It's a disaster out here if there's more than an inch.

I'm super excited. My wife made fun of me for packing more pedals than articles of clothing. I'm excited.

I just saw a couple PCB orders slip in, if anyone orders before 10PM central time I'll ship it tonight and have my wife drop it in the mail tomorrow, but if it's after 10PM it will wait until I get back.
 
I'll be there tomorrow, maybe Friday as well. I haven't been in at least 15 years. Last time I was there Lee Sklar told me I'd be a fool to get rid of my Mesa 400+ and Jerry Only told me "god bless" after getting his signature.

Both have stuck with me since then: I've kept the Mesa based on Lee's advice and still am not sure if Jerry Only was just fucking with me.
 
I attend and demo software at a lot of residential construction trade shows throughout the winter, and it’s more of a networking thing for us. Being able to get together with tons of clients and partners in a span of a few days is a lot of fun. Especially when it’s on the company’s dime! I always end up gaining 10-12 pounds from all the awesome restaurants we visit.

If you see the guys from Function F(x), be sure to give them a shout! I know Dave (pickdropper) is going to be there, I don't know about Bryan or Forrest..
