Pedal plugin with different modeled op amps

I think most people here are tube & pedal people through and through, but I thought this was pretty funny:

They modeled 6 different op amps for the (treble? or maybe just clean) booster! How do you feel about it? Has science gone too far?

The amp model also has three different tube options. I understand these do make some amount of difference, but it just feels like cheap marketing to entice people in with "six whole different op amps" when in practice the differences will be pretty negligible. I guess it's still in reasonable limits with 6 op amp options and 3 tube options for the amp, but I've moved away from "lots of options which will make hardly any impact" to more "just get it right the first time around and fiddle less".

holy guacamole.
what a stretch.

i get the same sort of reaction when i see YATS with 7 different clipping options, a full TMB tonestack in place of a tone control, and heaps of other useless features that some peddlers do to try and convince hopeless GASers that having more controls on a drive pedal than your amp is a good thing.

You're going to probably notice a lot more of a side-by-side difference between discrete opamps running (in a virtual, simulated thing I guess) at anywhere from 15-24V in an audio path designed for clean headroom than you would just swapping monolithic opamps in a guitar pedal running at 9V that is designed to distort.

What that means for this plugin I cannot say.
