Rosamp.com any experience?

"Can we be build buddies? I am nervous with this one, I have drooled over an SLO for years ever since I saw Gov’t Mule back in ‘01."

Of cause we can!!! I need all the help I can get! I Im sure youre going to knock it out of the park!

I somehow wangled my way through a custom plexi, but that had great build docs and support from Trinity. AA is just the PCB and layout and Schematic. Im straight in at the deep end on this one! But love a challenge. Andrea has been great at replying to my questions though so fingers crossed!

I have been looking for a higher gain amp for a while. Ideally looking for a Mesa MK clone but no one does one so this I think will be a close match. Interestingly Trinity say they have will be restocking the Thor model they do now parts are available again, thats more of a JCM800 though. They also said they are planning on a "high gain" kit but that wont be for about 18 months. I cant wait to see what they come up with. This build should tide me over until then.

I have managed to source pretty much all the parts now so might fire up the iron in a week or so! Once the transformers and chassis arrive I should have done most of it.

Hope I dont blow myself up!

Trinity makes some damn fine stuff but they have yet to get back to me about when the Triwatt is going to be restocked, hence getting the SLO.

I am hoping they keep coming out with more amp models because they have knocked it out of the park so far. I have been on a long 18 watt love affair and am not stopping anytime soon.

I just thought of what I am going to do for the head cabinet, have you put any thought into it yet?

I’d be all over a TC-15 kit if they brought that one back! Seems they’ve drastically scaled back their offerings post-pandemic.

Me too, I was looking to get another one from them because the 18 watt and the 5e3 deluxe are so wonderful. I know they have had supply chain issues, hopefully they get back up and running.

18w seems like a nice sweet spot in a live situation too. I run my Peavey 6505MH direct to FOH using the cab sim output (XLR) and it sounds as good as a mic'd speaker, although I can go that route too. The 6505 is known for it's warm clean tones (NOT!!) and that's how I use it. Just push the snot out of the front end so I can clean or dirty as needed. I seem to recall the SLO as being equally as versatile, which is surprising, since both are intended as monster overdrive amps.

Whatever is going on at Trinity these days, my experience has been bad. I've been holding off my criticism of them because I know they are well respected, but I can't recommend them based on my recent experience.

They've had my ~$400 deposit since November and apparently that doesn't warrant a response to my emails asking for an update after being told months ago (in a mass email) that things were ready to move (this was April 3rd).

Seriously?!? Thats horseshit!

I was a little bent that they haven’t responded to any emails or calls but to hear this is really sad.

Yeah, I haven't wanted to call them and would prefer just to get a "Sorry, dude, it's going to be X weeks/months/whatever because of Y" email, but I think I'm going to have to call them this week or next.

I hear you all with the complainants about Trinity and I can’t answer for them. I lucky got my 18w before the world fell apart. They only seem to be recovering now.

The new manager Craig has responded within hours to all my mails so I don’t know why others are getting no replies.

This is what he said to me. I have know idea what phase 1 and 2 is. I’m guessing 1 is to get stuff out to people who have orders things and then move into getting an inventory back up again.
“We are getting thru the back log of phase 1, plan to have Phase 2 shipping before the end of the year”

I can only say keep trying them. Have you called then?

I hope that they manage to sort you guys out with both your gear and answers. And I hope that they continue to have not only great products but the service to back it up. Stephen put a lot of time and effort into that company.

Anyway here’s to some SLO madness!!!!

I haven't called them yet, I've only reached out by email and through the "contact us" form through their website.

They had good communication at first, and I appreciate their difficulties with supply chain issues, which is what those first emails were about. I don't have complaints about that.

But we got an email on April 3rd that said:

"Good news, after several supply chain delays, the chassis and transformers arrived on March 31st. This week we are compiling the kits for all three circuits of our Phase 1 re-launch of Trinity Amps. Once all of the kits are staged, we will be reaching out to inform you of the balance remaining from your deposits and get these shipped out."

Since then I've reached out at least twice but it's been radio silence. No more email blasts or replies to my outreach to them since then.

I totally get it. Im a stickler for customer service. And this doesnt sound good at all. I feel your frustration.

Try this contace and see how you go. I would now give them one last chance to at least let you know whats going on and then demand your money back.

Oh yikes! I didn’t mean to derail with the Trinity talk. I saved all of the TC15 info, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to source the parts and build one.. Sounds like that may be the way to go.

I will always talk positively about my experience with Trinity up until 2023. They have been two assets to my studio and the knowledge gained from the build docs is incredible.

Having said that, I hate when people cannot respond to repeated emails. I get maybe the first one when to the spam folder but multiple emails sent from different accounts just to see when I could grab a kit with no response is pretty bad.

Not to sound like an arrogant asshole but I would pay full price and then would film a whole video series on it and put in on the internet for anyone else interested in doing the same. It’s almost like free advertising just because I love this stuff and would like just a tiny email saying no kit or yes kit.

To end on a positive note my 18watter kicks so much ass and next weeks video is some of my favorite recorded sounds.

Trinity 4 life

Trinity's more than SLO in answering my calls — and, she keeps hanging up on me.
