What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Hmph, I finally finished up the Sugarbag Overdrive and... no signal. Noticed the transistor was the wrong way around so I tried desoldering it first (well, snipping the legs and then desoldering the remains), but as usual desoldering is a huge pain so I just added a new one on top of the old legs. I think it should be ok now, although it's ugly and hacky as hell, but still no signal. Time to try audio probing for the first time ever I guess.

I went looking for an "alien butt probe" gif but I found this instead....

Tractor updates for @Erik S
One of the reasons I decided to pull the motor was that the grass screen had broken loose and was running the blower housing. The only way to get to it is to pull the motor since this is a shaft driven machine, and the grass screen is mounted to the flywheel drive cup from the inside. I'll be replacing the flywheel drive cup and the grass screen 🥶

One of the other issues was the mechanical PTO. I used to use the tractor exclusively for hauling and didn't use the PTO, but a couple of years ago, I decided to put it on mowing duty. Turns out both thrust buttons were GONE 😳 there's just a stub of the shaft left on the wear button on the PTO itself. On the actuator, there's just the mounting hole, which means the steel arm was just jamming right into the PTO, stopping it from rotating but still loading the engine. No wonder the engine couldn't start. You can see the abrasion on the clutch throw out arms.

I'm going to order a remanufactured PTO clutch. I just have to drill out the remaining set screws holding on the current PTO clutch because someone buggered the 1/8" hex heads

I'm also working on a new wood shed entirely out of free materials. Some real DIY shit

Flattening those drums looks like a crap-ton of work!! Looks awesome! Someone asked me if I could help them do that once. I told them they were nuts. I didn’t think of the drive-over method though.

Be careful with drums. My step brother had to get a very expensive helicopter ride after he almost blew his arm off when he cut into a drum with an angle grinder and it exploded.

These had coconut oil in them. The lids were clamped on, so when I got to them with the angle grinder, one end was already fully open. I've seen barrel explosion videos 🥶
