Rosamp.com any experience?

well fuck me…
so after they sold out all of their SLO50 + SLO100 kits, looks like they’ve just re-listed them at about 200-250 euros higher than they were before :(
oh well.

looks like the layout versions have also been updated with a revision date 07/2023 🤔

stock isn’t available yet (must still be on ‘vacation’ or something)

p.s. - i emailed them when they sold out in jun/jul and they said they’ll be back online/for business in september

Without trying to take anything away from Rosamp, have you tried C3amps or AAelectronics. Could be a good option depending on where you’re based.

Can you link to the AA electronics one? All that comes up for me is a surveillance electronics store lol
Sure

Its just PCB's. I have just finished populating one and using the BOM and schematic it went together well.

Now the hard work of putting it all together starts!

Now this place is interesting, where do you get a chassis from?

So far it’s been really good. With only a layout and a schematic and a BoM to go off it’s been challenging. Andrea who runs it has been patient with all my questions though. My last amp build (Trinity) had almost step by step instructions so this is very different but it’s still fun.

The quality of the board is fantastic. I’m sure his others are too. Can’t wait to hear what it sounds like.

Working off the BOM I managed to order most parts from Mouser and found all the rest I needed easily enough. The only pain has been the power section diodes. Apparently the spec has changed on these and the leads are now thicker so won’t go through the pcb! I managed to use some sand paper and filed off enough to just about for them through and get them soldered.

I used Rob at C3 amps (who has been super helpful!) to get the chassis, transformers, tube sockets, knobs, head enclosure (you will have to wait until I have finished to see that but it’s a work of art that’s for sure!) and some other bits and bobs.

Chassis is perfect. Pre-drilled. I had to add a couple to mount the board. And had to remove some powder coating for grounding etc.

It has a couple of extra holes I won’t be using but they are either on the top (not seen) or back. I can live with that.

Got the tube sockets in and next time home I will start the off-board wiring…….

My TC15 had an extra hole in the back and I just put a toggle in it that's not connected to anything just to fill the hole

Come to think of it, I might put the WH mod switch in there. Would just mean a couple of long wires going from the OD gain pot on the front under the PCB to the back.

nah C3amps is still way more and i’m not really sure why…
AAelectronics is PCB only?

well, it appears i had a sook too soon, i emailed rosamp again and got a response with a description of changes/improvements to the new kits:

“-Some modifications to the frame: (high performance and long lasting powder coating process, masking of the parts for the optimization of the ground contacts, countersinking of some screw seats).
-New set of transformers, derived directly from original DMI DeYoung components.
-Original Sifam control knobs.
-All components of the highest quality!”

hell yes i'll take that.

That’s great they have made some good mods there.
Not sure why C3 would be more. Go with your gut on what you want though. As you can see from this thread the Rosamp stuff seems to work just fine and looks great too!

AA is just PCB’s that’s why I used Rob at C3 for a lot of the big hardware. Seems to work well at together.

sure is!

difference is pretty clear:
C3amps SLO100 kit (w/ head cabinet) listed @ USD $2023
rosamp SLO100 kit (w/o head cabinet) listed @ USD $1155

[C3amps head cabinet listed @ USD $350] - and damn, those cabinets look so good  would love to get one....
