What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Is it osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis? FWIW I haven't heard of any link between lactose intolerance and joint pain, but of course it's still possible. I'm not at all a professional, but I could see some link with rheumatoid arthritis since it's based on your immune system and there could be some connection there? Not sure about osteoarthritis. Then again joint pain can also vary based on air pressure I think, so maybe it could also be a coincidence? In any case if leaving out mild cheddar helps with the pain, it doesn't really matter why, the important part is just that it helps.
I had an old country doctor when I was a kid. Larger than life kind of guy. Thorough and kind and wicked funny. Best advice he ever gave me was “if it hurts when you pick at it, then don’t pick at it.” @RetiredUnit1 reminds me of that - go eat that sharp old cheese, man! If it helps, get at ‘er. 💪🏻

I'm casein allergic, but VERY mild. I guess it's osteo, they never told me, I didn't ask. Cat scan of my effed up fingers decided the disability hearing in my favor back in 2011. Yup I gotta STAY SHARP from now on!!!

It's more than helps, it's like getting my life back. I don't have to take 1/4th of a tramadol 3 to 4 times a day. And I've lost 3 pounds in just ten days 'cuz I CAN MOVE AGAIN!!! YAY!!!!

I'm pretty OCD with direction also & making it easy to read resistors & troubleshooting.
I place horizontal resistors so I can read the bands in order of the values from the left side.
Vertical Resistors from bottom to top, Cap values with forward facing values.
It makes for a Pro finish.
That's what I do as well, except I do vertical resistors top to bottom.

Yeah, sounds like osteoarthritis since AFAIK there's not much more you can do about it apart from take pain medication, or if it's some big joint they sometimes replace them with artificial joints. I've got rheumatoid arthritis, which is an auto-immune disorder, so I have to take specific medication to keep it at bay. But thankfully mine is very well behaved when on medication, pretty much no issues at all.

They are called by very different names in Finnish (no direct translation for the name for osteoarthritis, but it could be something along the lines of "joint wreck", if I had to freehand translate - rheumatoid is just called "reuma"), although I can understand why they lump them together in English. Arthritis just means "my joins hurt" AFAIK, so they lump them together like that. But the causes are very different for each.

And it's great to hear it has improved your situation significantly!
