Little electronic cleaners I have(like toothpicks and qtips had a baby) were the perfect dowel. Cross cut a x in it half way down and cleaned the hole. We'll see how it goes.Wood is stripped... Shouldve clarified

I put in a switch so I can quickly A/B between the NLC contraption and a plain 10uF cap to ground and I actually like the single cap better. With the NLC there's something unnatural/undesirable about the attack when playing hard with a lot of compression. Try it for yourself, it's just an extra switch and cap on top of what you already have.I thought that was a clever part of the application note. But, I’ve never built it without it. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts about it in/out of the circuit.
Huh that’s really interesting. I’ll have to give that a try. I actually don’t have a build in hand (everyone that tried it wanted it!). I’ll definitely give it a shot though.I put in a switch so I can quickly A/B between the NLC contraption and a plain 10uF cap to ground and I actually like the single cap better. It definitely sounds great (DBX rack gear grade) and makes the bass sit in the mix like there's no tomorrow. I'd like to try a 4315 instead of 4316 for less noise.Huh that’s really interesting. Tayda does too (the Tayda brand pots), for those outside the US. Not sure about how good they are long term, but I haven't had any issues with them so far.
You’ve got bench space for miles!
This came in yesterday. Guyatone FLIP envelope filter.
eBay "not working, as is"
$55 gamble. Plugged the toob back in as it was dangling by a couple pins and fired right up. Sounds, well, funky on bass. These seem to be a rare dog in the FLIP series.
Wasn't on the bench long but hey. Take the easy ones when you can get them.
@vigilante398 or anyone else want to trace it before it's likely off to reverb or sent to the trade shelf? I think there are schematic scans out there already though.

SchematicI'm mostly curious to see how the tube is integrated, and if it were an optical envelope filter- something PPCB desperately needs
