Your current game play-through

Anybody played Control? I just bought it today. It looks cool but I might hate it 🤷
I snagged that one for free months ago on Epic Games. I have yet to play it, but it does look interesting.

Seriously though, PC gamers should definitely watch the weekly free giveaway there (switches up Thursday at 11 EST). Most are cheaper games, but every once in awhile, a decent one pops up.

Or if you have Amazon Prime, https://gaming.amazon.com. Free weekly games, that stick around for about a month.

My game backlog is about as bad as my PCB one with those two sources, plus all the shit on Steam I bought.

I used to be all about video games and really haven't been into them much lately but I decided to give Elden Ring a shot and it sucked me in to the point I put 500+ hours into it. It was my first soulslike so I'm playing Dark Souls now. Got Alan Wake 2 lined up next so I guess it kinda revitalized my interest.

Which isn't necessarily good lol but I'm having a blast for now. Can't recommend Elden Ring enough to anyone still undecided.

I did all the achievements for Elden Ring back when it came out, but I had a lot of issues with my wrists so had to cut back. I've been going through a randomizer run now though, really mixes up the whole thing. Up to Malekith fight now.

FWIW I would really recommend Lies of P to soulslike fans, it was excellent, I paid for one month of Game Pass and played through that. Very enjoyable, if it goes on a heavy discount in the future I'll probably pick it up.

As for what I've been playing lately, I played quite a bit of Stalker: G.A.M.M.A. (fan created free version of the Stalker games, more hardcore and with a semi complicated process on how you can fix up guns so you can actually use them), the aforementioned Elden Ring randomizer run, WH40K: Sanctus Reach, and now started up a solo run of Satisfactory since they put out a new update.

I also played a bit of Vampire Survivors which I got in preparation for a Steam Deck I should be getting today, if the weird logistics company would get it's shit together.

Also some Lethal Company with some work friends.

Tbh the only one I'm comfortable recommending is Elden Ring, and if a "confusing, hardcore PvE Tarkov" sounds like something up your alley then definitely try Stalker: G.A.M.M.A..

In the last year we added the PS5 with two Horizon games and Elden Ring and the playstation game pass. What has happened since is me playing hollow knight repeatedly and not touching those scary big commitment games.

Picked up Super Mario Wonder and Super Mario RPG and my little guy beat both of them promptly a few times.

Like the lot of you, adulting sucks up my time to really invest into a game. Something like Hollow Knight is fun enough for me to just pick up and zone out for a bit.

Any other Metroidvania fans out there?

Hell yes! I love hollow knight. Such a cool game. I am also a sucker for metroidvanias. I usually replay Castlevania: Symphony of the night once every few years.

SotN is a great game! Mirror of Fate for the 3ds was also pretty fun and all of the ones for the gba were outstanding.

Somewhere in my house is a box with a ps1, ps2, ps3, wii, wiiu, psp and 3ds that are all heavily modded with some choice classics never to be played again…..

Hollow Knight is great! I played it a lot a few years ago. Never finished it though, maybe I should give it another go.
