I got Grinch'd by a delivery company too. I'd ordered myself a present which got sent to Wales instead of Northern Ireland. My estimated delivery date went from 16th December to 2nd Jan

Got a Boss SL-2 Slicer pedal (STEREOOOOO) and a set of Funk Fingers to help me live out my dreams of being a Tony Levin impersonator (but with a full head of hair, and no mustache).

Also got some records, including Charles Mingus’ Incarnations, and the Mondo edition of the Time Bandits soundtrack.

I love these things. I have an SL-20 and it is super fun. Really fun to solo over if you record some loops. Excited for you to report how you like it.

I had some issues with tone suck with helix devices too but found if I properly matched the input and output volumes they're as transparent as any analog dry through pedal I have. I tested it with an A/B box so I could switch the Helix in and out of the signal chain.

Thanks for the reminder - I had some success with adjusting levels as well. It didn't work when I had a ToneX for a short while though so I think it is somewhat dependent on the outboard gear. The HX One does sound 'clearer' by increasing the FX level by 0.5 to 1 dB.

I'm of the opinion that Helix Native sounds better than the hardware devices they make because something less than ideal is going on with the base DSP through signal.

Get to try out a Tascam PortaCapture X8 with the BlueTooth dongle . . . .
It came with a Sure Beta 58, a Sur SM-57, Peterson StroboStomp & headstock tuners.
There will some multi-track recordings in 2024!

I've just learned in the past few months how much I like Phish, despite having known about them for as long as I can remember.

I dig Phish in moderation. I play the 2000 NYE show a phew times a year and my good friend loves them immensely, so I hear some good recordings from time to time.

I saw them at the Gorge Ampitheater in 1999. It was an excellent show but that was kinda enough for me. Haven't really payed any attention in 25 yrs.

I got a Kitchenaid too! I got the Classic 4.5 though since it plays nicer with my low-hanging cabinets.

I also used the holiday sales opportunities to buy my first bass (a Yamaha TRBX304) and bass amp (a Fender Rumble 40).
