Oops...

I do that too, but I ended up needing them when the tube pedals started surfacing, so bonus!

I like 1W resistors in place of carbon comps in vintage style pedal builds. Reeves does it too I think.
Something like an ISS fuzz face board looks great with 1W metal films

I've done it too, but they're great for breadboarding. Those big beefy legs stick in a breadboard and don't move around much.

where does reeves get the rails (bare wire)? I will try those 1w resistors.

thanks

You want tinned bare copper wire for long term resistance to corrosion

I bought this for ground bus wire for the 5F6-A Bassman amp I'm working on.

I just bought some 100 watt resistors! 8R and 16R for a 1/4 power mod for a 50 watt amp. You just wire them to a switch like you were putting the 8R in series and the 16R in parallel and it goes back to 8R. Like wiring a cab with three pretend speakers.
I need to set myself up
With the dummy load

This is a blackface vibro champ layout I made showing how to hook them up. Eventually I'll make this, but right now working on my '59 Bassman.

If you click on it it'll take you to where you can download the full resolution image for viewing on your pc.

I’ve been thinking my next project will be a 6g15. I have a couple amps I’d like to use it with.

My bassman and my jc-40. That digital reverb in the jc just doesn’t do it for me.
