What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Today we're rehousing my Seabed in a 1590B with top jacks, and putting together the Germaniac (Ge FF/RM combo, much toan, such vintage, wow) in a 1590XX. I was going to stuff a Green Ringer in there too, but that was a pain in the ass so I abandoned the idea and put it in its own 1590B.

The idea here is to have a nice blues/rock board with every pedal the same height, format, LED color, and relative dimensions, all with top jacks and power. It isn't the easiest thing because I hand measure, mark, and drill, but I'm getting good at it. Hoppe's #9 gun oil makes a fantastic drilling lubricant for aluminum.

I may or may not label these enclosures. I am not good with visual art, and they look elegant in a way when bare. Also makes them mysterious! At least that's what I tell myself 😅

For some reason I decided to not touch this for 4 months and wait til it was below freezing in the garage. Back to trying to drill out some set screws on the PTO clutch of this k301 🤦
Okay, I think I’m caught up on what the goal is:

On the edge of my seat here!

Are you still working on the first set?

I screwed out the first set without stripping them. I drilled out one set and I'm part way through the third set.

I'm going to purchase a remanufactured PTO clutch. The wear buttons on this one are completely gone and the actuator ground into the plates.

I can only stand to drill for about 15 minutes at a time so I do that once a day. I'll get through eventually. I also broke a cobalt bit already

Oh nice! You’re in the home stretch!

Finishing everything I started today was a little ambitious, but I got a lot done. The Seabed is perfectly happy crammed in a 1590B, and the Germaniac is laid out and ready for me to make and install the boards. If I have the wherewithal, I'll build the Rangemaster side tomorrow and the Fuzz Face side on Tuesday.

I love the care and craftsmanship put into this.
Guy I bought it from($50) said it doesn't turn on. Power cable is cut.
Hopefully all these ITT caps are still good enough.
Will start with the power supply (yes, fuse is good) probably tomorrow. The good news is I don't anyone has been in here before making it worse.

If humidity inside the cap changes so does the value. Wait for a really dry day then plug them with epoxy putty. Or replace.
I'm going to guess these are shot. They're right over the power supply with no venting.
The 1000uf caps in the PSU are reading 1uf and 1nf as well...
Probably it for today. Past my bedtime. This one should be fun if I can manage to not break it.
Just wish there was a power disconnect.

That just means they'll work extra good.

"Nah, boss, you don't don't needs to replace me. Fuggetaboutit."
~fuse holders, probably
Brittle plastic fuse holder is shot too.
Figured a holder was in order with a 3 prong plug.
I just wish I could find a schematic.
I keep having to talk myself out of building a fuzz pedal into it but no way to do so non-destructively.

Getting the Zombie Fuzz (MadBean PIF Prize) into a 1590B enclosure. It all fits . . . . . barely. At least the clearance tolerances are sufficient. The jacks clear the pots (by ~4mm) and the lid fits as it should. Once the correct pots arrive, I'll get it all wired & fired up. (Who'da thunk all suppliers are currently out of 9mm B5K pots. Had to order from Thonk in the UK.)
