Your current game play-through

Enjoying Gran Turismo 7. I played it online on a one make race featuring the told Fiat 500 powered by all of 17 horses.

Except the filter for car selection glitches for me...I decided to use the game's most powerful car, a concept car called the Dodge Tomahawk which has 1,600 herse purrs.

I thought I'd have that fun being that guy until lap two and I forgot that there wouldn't be much space between 19 other underpowered Fiats.

GT1 and 2 were my jam with the early PS around 2000 and I finished them both. I’m contemplating buying the new PS just to play the new 7

Just started playing Elder Scrolls:eek:blivion again. I tried to go back and play daggerfall cuz it’s free but I couldn’t get out of the training dungeon haha
My partner wanted to try Skyrim so I installed it for her and watching her play is making me want to get back into it, I haven't played in years but I forgot how fun it is.
Some people are building desktop computers as a hobby and side-hustle, just like we build stompboxes.

Buying second-hand seems like the best approach, in my experience
Building your own PC used to be the easiest and most cost-effective option for high-performance systems. I remember the golden years :ROFLMAO: when I was a teenager I was keeping close track of the industry and built or helped build 20+ systems for myself and friends over ~10 years. Since the pandemic and the associated supply shortages (and actually a bit before that), this approach became much less favourable, which is a shame. On the other hand, I bought myself a midrange gaming laptop nearly 4 years ago now and have absolutely no complaints about the performance.

The remake of Medievil from the PS1 is freaking awesome. I forgot how much I loved this game. Probably my second favorite game of all time. I love the whole aesthetic of the game. Flawless

I had to quit playing video games all together. A few years ago, I dusted off an old Wii and played it for an entire weekend. The next week, I developed tendonitis in my wrist. I had to have two cortisone shots to clear it up and thought I was going to have to have surgery. I thought my bass playing days were over.

Dang - my M.2 SSD was easily recognized in Windows but no matter what I tired, I could not get BIOS to detect it to install Windows. So, no go. Returning the M.2 and getting a regular EVO 2TB SSD in its place. Still a lot better than the 500GB I've been futzing with.

Anyway, the RTX 3060 is great! A big upgrade.

Did you try to write a partition to it in windows? sometimes you have to screw with one there instead of bios to get it to write a partition.. then you can enable it in the bios

Skyrim ..again… Delving into some of the enhancement mods, which is fun. I want to get Gate to Sovngarde mod set, but it's like 1,300 mods and Mod Organizer 2 won't download them all at once; have to use Vortex, which I'd rather not do again.

I think this may be the most modded game (maybe GTAV has more, IDK), so there's lots of garbage to sort through; especially all the weird appearance mods that make NPCs look like fashion models or anime characters. 😖

hahaha there is never a bad time to start a new skyrim character. I think I have put more hours into that game than any other except maybe super mario hahaha

Man, having used Vortex a couple of times, the app is so shitty it almost makes me want to pay for Premium so it can download all the mods at once, but they've priced it so high I just can't bring my cheap ass to pay for it, instead opting to click a couple of hundred times to get everything installed one by one.

As for my playthroughs, obviously I've been playing some CS2 from time to time (also participated in the company league in Finland with teams from a lot of companies, we did very badly there, but hopefully that means we'll be in a division where our skill more accurately matches the opponents next season), but I'm almost done with Marvel's Midnight Suns, and I've been playing a lot of Helldivers 2.

I'm also keeping an eye on Balatro and Pacific Drive, but maybe waiting for discounts at least on the latter. Read some reviews that it might get repetitive with not enough variety, which is not always an issue for me, but sometimes it is. "sorta like Stalker, but you drive and upgrade a station wagon and there's no guns" sounds like an interesting prospect for a game.

I'm running a moderately modded install of Skyrim right now (~150 mods) and don't find Vortex to be as bad as people make it out to be. There are definitely a few things that could be made more user-friendly but it's honestly alright. I went with mostly retextures/"modernize the appearance" and "vanilla plus" type mods for this playthrough and I'm enjoying it - specifically avoided the "anime girl" type of mods that are, indeed, way too numerous. Literally cannot get a good hairstyles mod that doesn't look like it was at best lifted from a completely different game (did my best with a couple of decent vanilla retexes). But yeah this game has so much replay value haha

Forget Skyrim. Time for another playthrough of Oblivion, amiright? Surely I can add to that 250 hours a decade ago!
Ya I have to agree with you. I just did an Oblivion run through earlier this year. I love Oblivion. It's also dirt cheap on steam. I think I paid $10 last year.

The original Company of Heroes does it for me.
I'm starting to see signs of aging in my 10+ year old rig. It's a 4770k with a 980ti but I don't want another PC and I don't want to spend all that money for a mac. I keep coming back to a m2 mac mini as I heard they can play CoH just fine. An 1176 would probably be a smarter investment though.
Sigh.

I gave up on gaming PCs in the early 2000s and just started playing on console. Much cheaper and usually more reliable. If you’re ok with no mods, it’s perfect. Never looked back.

I almost got a switch with TotK, but I couldn't justify $500 for eight year old hardware so I Yuzu'd that mofo. Brilliant game but once I was done I haven't been back to either of those last two Zelda games.
I got my Wii chip modded back in the day and then I got a PS3 (still have that) but the limiting selection of their titles and the walled garden frustrates me.
I may be just switching to tubes and guns as hobbies instead. :D
