What's for dinner?

omelettes give me ptsd because I'm a chef and there is nothing more complictated than working a brunch omelette station but that is one very beautiful fluffy looking omelette right there.
I USED to love them. Then I took a blood test and found out I was allergic. I stopped eating eggs and was shocked when I checked my blood pressure one day and it was like 70/40. I stopped taking my BP meds and my average is now 100/60. Before WITH meds it was 145/95.

¡Carumba!

This is what I have for lunch most days at work. One of my favorites.

I bet they don't crowd you at the lunch table. :ROFLMAO:

I used to eat sardines with my granddad as a kid, never understood why my grandmother made us eat them outside on the picnic table...

I tried them one time later in life... popped the tab on the can, gave it a pull and poured sardine oil all over my shirt and pants (and had to wear them for the rest of the day). I really haven't had the nerve to try them again. 😭🐟:ROFLMAO:

The first one I made fell apart a bit and my wife said: “it’s good, but it’s not restaurant good” 😊

Ok here’s more food! I made Roman style pizza last night again. I think I need to make a bit more dough and lay it a bit thicker because it got a bit dry and too thin in places. It was still very good.

Also, I made focaccia yesterday which I baked this morning to bring to a friends’ brunch:

That’s cherry tomatoes and caramelized onions. It’s VERY good.

Man I wish my San Marzanos would ripen the h*ck up… I need me some margherita!
My cats are all over 14 years old and have stopped eating and chasing rats and mice. As a result rats ate my garden before it was even an inch tall. I had 60 3" pots germinated with everything from tomatoes to squash, giant pumpkins, peppers. gaaa.... I had a patch I planted with onion seeds, all gone too.

Gotta get myself a new red tabby or two from the pound. I have ONE San Marzano that survived. Fortunately, the rodents are not at all interested in cannabis and those are all 12 feet tall. Switched to bloom fertilizer yesterday......

Omelettes are my favourite thing to prepare, so I'm pretty darn good at making them (I know, they're easy — well, at least at home; not sure I could operate an omelette station at a breakfast buffet).

I had a girlfriend whose father was DEATHLY allergic to eggs. We were visiting her parents and he made breakfast the next morning, pancakes, and I didn't know about the egg allergy at the time — well he put eggs in the pancake mix and had rubbed his eye after handling the eggs.
When he served the pancakes I nearly jumped out of my seat when he looked at me. His one eye was completely BLOODSHOT and bulging out of his face that had started to puff up. He'd do anything for his little princess, though...

Oh, and I worked with a guy in theatre (he was the Tech director) and he developed a strawberry allergy in his early twenties that went away in his late 30s and came back in his early 50s... 🤷‍♂️

I remember them from my grandpa, too. He always ate them on a saltine with mustard. I ate them with him because my grandma thought it was gross :ROFLMAO:

I always eat them outside and have to be careful not to get the oil on me. I think I'd have to go home for the day if I did since my job required me to be around people all day.

I really like them for lunch. Not only are they incredibly filling, but there is something about them that feels almost decadent. And at $2 or $3 a can it's a pretty inexpensive lunch.

At home I like to make sandwiches with sardines, Kewpie mayo, full grain mustard, and greens wilted in the oil from the can. That's a good sandwich.

I never ate them growing up, my Grandad was a Vienna Sausage with crackers fan, or he'd spread Potted Meat on crackers. It was a couple of buddies I used to fish, hunt and camp with that turned me on to sardines and kippered herring. They were really handy when you weren't lucky enough to catch your fish dinner!
