Keith and BYOC is going out of business.

If I only needed some amp transformers. That would be some good prices on Classictone which are no longer made.
 
Oh no! I had been hoping their 18w TMB kit was going to get stocked again. They seemed to have one of the best ratios of price to component selection (for everything, not just amps). It's startling how massive of a hole a company like BYOC (or Small Bear) shutting down can create in a relatively small hobby community like pedal-building. Like many others BYOC was my entrance into pedal building. I had their rat with the selectable clippers on my main board for years. The divided octave is still my favourite octave pedal.

I wanted to pick up some transformers/turret board for a 5e3 build but the shipping to Canada/terrible exchange rate sunk that idea.
 
My first pedal build was a byoc delay back in 2009. The end of an era...

Guess I'm building a 5F1 at some point.
 
I remember bYOC being lodged in my brain…always associated with diy pedals. When I finally got around to learning to build, they were always out of stock. PPCB was the next google suggestion…

I bought two of the classictone 15w single ended transformers. I paid full price because I was just happy to find them.
 
I remember seeing BYOC ads in Guitar Player magazine around 2007 and thinking, Me? Build my own pedal? Yeah right!

Yet here we are.
 
Wow. Never expected to see that!
I bought a Ross compressor kit from him many moons ago, and still look at his site for schematics from time to time.
 
Went to grab the Divided Octave since it looked in stock for once. Sold out while I was selecting components.

Guess I am using the schematic to DIY it for real.

Yeah, the kit listed in stock, and but the pcb was listed as out of stock. I wanted to grab a board or two, but yeah…

I used to check in every few months to see if it was in stock but gave up ages ago. Been trying to get a divided octave since I was a kit buyer. Long before I ever even heard of the pedalpcb.
