I wanted to try this cool incandescent bulb I got from @Amplified Parts but it seems like it draws too much current to run on a battery. It dims after about a minute of being on. Guess I'll cram an LED in the bezel and call it a day

Ooooh yeah. Incandescent is not the way to go with batteries.
Think about how big Maglites were, and how much run time ya got off a handful of D cells.
Then consider the size of a 9 volt, and the fact that the way a 9 volt gets up to 9 volts is by running several tiny cells in series. Much like how a maglite uses those D-cells in series...except they're way, way, way bigger.
Same alkaline tech. Same energy density. Larger mass, still shit runtime.
LEDs are kinda miracles when it comes to the amount of light you get per watt.

Yesterday did a test on a junk/reclaimed 3PDT for gits and shiggles, and turns out I had a failure before layer separation happened.
Granted, I cranked down on this harder than I would ever do, even with a metal socket, but it's a stress test after all. Handles didn't break either. For normal use I think they're a-okay

Admittedly that's an issue with the normal rocket sockets as well.
Which, I'd say, makes this a very successful experiment. Well done!
I've got me some CF reinforced polycarbonate filament that would be awesome for this. That is, as long as one could get the layer adhesion dialed. PC is a little difficult in that respect.

I bought a used carbon bike frame and posted it in the mailbox thread. I considered refinishing it since matte black is overdone.
I decided to polish it to a high gloss instead

Got the cheapo Ali-zon yellow transfer paper to actually work. Well, so far. Not etching it because it was a misprint (paper alignment) and I fucked up the LED drill marker in final nudges. But hey. Got the cheap stuff to work. Maybe I'll circle back around to magazine/sticker paper once the isolation of winter sets in.
