Graphic Assets for DIY Builders

These are incredible. Thank you very much! If you’re fielding requests for knobs, boss- and MXR-style, brutalist/contempo (RAT-style), and Davies would be great.
Thanks for the kind words.

At some point, I downloaded some of the knobs you're requesting for free but it looks like they may be behind a pay gate now:

I don't toot my own horn often, but I think my illustrations are more realistic than what's offered there.

If you don't mind, send me links (a real image and a datasheet is preferred) to the knobs you need @benny_profane. I'll look into it.

Boss-Style
BOSS style knob illustrations are now available. No formal datasheet is publicly available on some of the knobs and Daier hasn't responded to my inquiry, so some of the dimensions are approximated based on best judgement of available images. In all cases, the outside diameter of the illustration should be accurate.

Classic Davies
Davies style knob illustrations are now available. Where dimensions differed between manufacturers, I went with Daier's dimensions because it's more likely what builders will be using based on cost.

All of the newest illustrations are available here:

I'll update with the others as soon as I have time to draw them.

RAT-Style (sold as "contempo" and "brutalist")
These are now available and can be found at my GitHub repo:

With all styles, some dimensions were unavailable, so I used my best judgement when approximating. The teeth count and overall diameter are drawn according to available data and should be accurate. With the "Rat" and Cupcake styles, getting the curvature of the teeth accurate was a major PITA, but I think it ended up looking good. I went ahead and illustrated the "Marshall" lookalike knobs as well because I know some folks like to use them.

What else do you guys need? It doesn't have to be part illustrations.

Chickenhead knobs! small and large, all the sizes :-)
Davies 2300 series clones.

Okay, I lied about finishing something else first. These two are done. I see several other styles of "Chicken Head" knobs out there, but the Davies 2300 clones seem to be the most widely used.

I understand now why the only version of an illustration of these looked like this (not my work):

Drawing these with any level of realism/accuracy was challenging. A lot of curves and shading. I also added a "feature" to these knobs since they aren't symmetrical. I've added a transparent centering circle that corrects for the offset and allows the knobs to be centered where the shaft will be. I'm not sure how this will translate on the PDF file version, but the .afdesign version should include the "centering tool" in each knob's grouped vectors. I will eventually add this to any asymmetrical knob I've drawn and apply the correction to future job drawings because it seems like a clever trick to ensure the knob can be centered according to the potentiometer's shaft position.

I tried to get them as accurate as possible, but some dimensions are approximated.

Anyhow, I've added them to my GitHub repo under the Knobs category:
