Is the Main Out/Volume switch (next to the volume knob) on?
This is a weird switch that most synths don’t have.
You’re right that the A440 should give you a drone even without MIDI hooked up.

Yup. I've got no headphone or main output. I d/l the software, updated the firmware and tried different MIDI settings. Just can't get it to output anything.

Spent a few minutes in front of mine trying to not get a sound out of it. But I’m stumped.
As long as Main Out and A440 are switched on and the volume knob is up, you should get sound, regardless of how anything else is set.
I shall keep pondering…

I feel like this was something that took me a while to figure out on mine as well (going on 5 or 6 years that I’ve had it I think), but I haven’t touched it in a year so I can’t remember what the deal actually is

I assume you tried the outputs on the back as well as the ones on the front panel?

Yeah, tried all the outputs. It was bought new but sat in the box for a couple years. I got a great deal on it but never got around to incorporating into my song demos. Then I stopped doing demos. Way my fault for not checking the unit when I first got it.

The A440 should bypass all of those controls though, so if he’s not getting sound out of it…
