My snipe addiction and tubes. Seriously. Within the last 2 weeks. But tech were good deals dang it. I hate missing REALLY good deals and you just dont know until the auction is over.
I recently had the tip of one of those Kester flux pins fallout and that crap went EVERYWHERE! It’s like super glue. I struggled get it all up with Isopropyl Alcohol. Be careful lol! But I ordered another pen lol.I've used no clean by MG chem and Kester and both work great. Did you switch to a funky brand too?
My power and gas bill for February will be $440. It's never been above $280 in the winter months. I know this month has been colder and more windy than normal but I don't see that my usage rates differed any from usual. Before I can file a consumer complaint I must contact my utility who I know will do nothing.
There was am increase in 2 BTUs this month from last and a decrease in 5 kW-hrs. I'm based in the US and our utility is a regional monopoly.Ouch!!!
Did the actual amount of kW-hrs of electricity and/or BTUs of gas increase (which indicates that it was the cold and wind that were the reason), or was it simply the rate (i.e. price) that went up (which says it was your utility company(ies))?
Some utilities (especially private utilities running on top of the public network lines - at least in the US) are very prone to using high-cost "peak" generators when loads are high, and those prices can be egregious. But I think you may be in Canada, right?
Double ouch. My electric utility was the one that caused the northeast blackout back around ~2004 or so (I don't remember exactly), and who narrowly avoided a vessel breach at their Davis-Besse nuclear plant near Toledo in ~2002 (I think they have sold it since). Inadequate investments in infrastructure to help pay larger bonuses to their execs... Ah, yes, unregulated capitalism in action.our utility is a regional monopoly
Out of curiosity, has anybody else being billed a criminal amount of money from their utility?
Gotta keep those air-con units running.Built any new buffers recently?
Our local power company just put in new wireless power meters around town and some folks got crazy $10K+ light bills.
I'm not sure if it's common around the country but down here in the South we have "summer time" rates where the electricity nearly doubles per kWh for a few months out of the year. (Obviously the hottest months when you need electricity the most)
No air con here in the nordics (or at least not so widely used), so unsurprisingly electricity is much more expensive during the coldest winter months when there is more need for heating.I'm not sure if it's common around the country but down here in the South we have "summer time" rates where the electricity nearly doubles per kWh for a few months out of the year. We use gas heating and electric cooling here, so the electric company and gas company work together in their rate fluctuations. In the winter when we use less electricity and more gas, electricity gets cheaper and gas gets more expensive. Are there regulations or sanctions not participating on that by using gas for AC on summer and on colder months using electricity for hearing boiler reserve with circulation tubing net under floor? We use gas heating and electric cooling here, so the electric company and gas company work together in their rate fluctuations. It's a delight.
I'm not aware of an AC system that runs on natural gas, but there's no law against using electric heating or circulation tubing. That said, converting a house that already has duct work for a forced air system to a completely new in-floor system is definitely not the cost effective way to go. The current billing system sucks, but it's an extra couple hundred bucks per year, compared to thousands or tens of thousand to convert my house to a different setup. Are there regulations or sanctions not participating on that by using gas for AC on summer and on colder months using electricity for hearing boiler reserve with circulation tubing net under floor?
Your power company (like mine) may use estimated metering. My power company only reads the meter once per quarter. The other 2 are estimated so the actual reading month could be +/- a large amount. My power and gas bill for February will be $440. It's never been above $280 in the winter months.
