Your power company (like mine) may use estimated metering. My power company only reads the meter once per quarter. The other 2 are estimated so the actual reading month could be +/- a large amount.
First full month at the second place my wife and I moved into I wish they'd've used an estimate …or maybe another employee.

They misread a digit and the electric alone was $1,600. Definitely called them to check again, because thankfully I had the presence of mind the record all the numbers before and after we signed the lease. (that area has a transient tenant flow, and could've been a delinquent balance). It was definitely misread, and they eventually sent someone then rectified it.

Then they charged me late fees because of the (their) delay. They wouldn't refund or credit the fee.

That was like twelve years ago. I want to say they use IR/RF ir other method to read now. They do it for the water, so I assume so.

Stupidly ordered lid UV prints on Tayda rather than face prints... I usually think of a lid as on top and got sloppy. Tayda customer support hasn't responded, but then they do have all those warnings...

Everyone here talks about Hugo but I don't know who that is. No @Hugo on the forum.

Took my daughter off our auto insurance because she doesn’t want to drive and it was making our insurance more expensive. It went up higher after we took her off than it was before! Then it went up again the next month! It’s now more than double what it was a few months ago. Gonna have to talk to someone on the phone…

Auto insurance rates have been going up stupid amounts all across the country. I have no doubt that cars are more expensive to fix but I also have no doubt insurers are using that as a pretext to charge more for no reason.

or build a shmorg

I was supposed to fly back to NYC from Amsterdam yesterday but my flight was delayed to this morning. So I rescheduled since they let me, and spent another day in the city. My flight today was just canceled after spending about 7 hours at the airport. Now I’m heading to what I assume is a shitty hotel they put me up in. Headaches.

sometimes you have to just hang your head and go to a FEBO for a vending machine burger

There was a good Febo-like shop in Lan Kwai Fong (street & its surrounding area rife with bars and restaurants) for a brief period.
I could get my kroketten fix there, patat met mayo niet zo goed.

Gone.

One of the last components for my new bike build, the wheelset, was delivered today, one day ahead of schedule. Was super excited to get home and unpack them, and I arrive to find the shipping box absolutely eviscerated:

Like what the actual fuck happened here FedEx, I paid you to SHIP the wheels not throw them off a building. Can you read, or how do you miss the huge and obvious "FRAGILE" label on the package?? The box was so completely shredded that it would have almost been better if they'd just tossed the bare wheels in the back of the truck. The freehub body punched clean through the cardboard and the axle cap got roughed up real nice...

...but THANKFULLY that seems to be the extent of the damage. Sent an email to the company to see if I can get a spare for that because I know FedEx isn't going to do fuck all about this. To add insult to injury, I was also greeted by a fucking invoice from FedEx for duties and taxes from another order last month; $17.82 in charges, of which a whopping $4.94 CAD was actual duties and taxes (this is fine) and the rest is $11.40 in "disbursement fees" PLUS TAX ON THE FUCKING DISBURSEMENT FEES of $1.48.

72% of the bill is FedEx stealing my money by charging me 2.6x the actual fees in service charges. You can fuck all the way off and stay there.

The wheels are sick though!

Is that your first time using fedex across the border? I've had bigger charges on 50 bucks worth of stuff from LMS to canada lol. It's not worth it.
Oh certainly not; Every time I use FedEx (mostly not by choice) some shit happens. I too have been hit with the massive charges on, actually, about 50 bucks worth of stuff from LMS. Lol. The $18 was from Taiwan, this time - I'm not even mad about the $18, I'm mad about the fact that the majority of the cost is just price gouging. But it happens every time and I'm mad every time. But you're right, it's not worth it.
These wheels came from Ireland and the duties and taxes were included in the price, so at least I don't have that particular headache this time. But it would have been nice and cool if they hadn't destroyed the package 🙃 Got super lucky though that the contents weren't a write-off.

I feel you haha. Usually if the supplier doesn't offer national postage so it connects with Canada Post, I'm fuckin out :ROFLMAO:
