What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

FWIW, the Chase Bliss Clean (which is very quiet) apparently also had noise issues during development, but they implemented some sort "Emphasis filters for cassette-style noise reduction" which helped. I wonder if anyone has tried to do something similar in the DIY space? Or is it not worth the effort and possibly big component count?
Interesting. Never heard of that.

Got my ass kicked to take a good picture of this blackout finished Tonebender MKI.5. Like it wasn’t enough getting my ass kicked earlier trying to find a nice transistor pair for it (BTW, if you’re looking to build a MKI.5, you should NOT settle for a Fuzz Face pair… the circuit topology is the same but the Sola Sound is biased thru leakage, you need some SERIOUS leakage to make it sound like it should, or it will be just a fuzz face-ish thing.

Yep. Incidentally my favorite Fuzz Face I've built was supposed to be a 1.5 but I used low leakage transistors so it's just a dark Ge FF and I love it.
I think you want at least -7V on Q2c for a 1.5.

Yours looks amazing. Did you powder coat it yourself? And where is the enclosure from?

Yeah, I made some like this in the past and sounds really good too! Just different to the original benders. And thanks a lot man! I have my enclosures professionally painted for my by a paint shop, and the enclosure came from @mwpedalparts-maggie , great quality stuff

Will it keep my tone transparent and clear enough without too much of parallel squish? How it affects lo/hi mids? And please be honest, what about phase issues?
You won't have any phaser issues, the phaser is squished out parallel to the ho/li dims, making for fully trone tansparent. Is that clear enough?

I traded my Emerson Custom pedalboard to my brother for a laptop. I keep my pedals on a metal wire shelf where my kids can’t reach them so I don’t really need a board anymore. Anyways, I am moving my brothers pedals from his old board to the new one but his pedals are filthy! There is incense dust, pubes and maybe poop on some of these pedals hahaha. There is even a poopy fingerprint on one. I think I got the shit end of this deal haha. I was going to let him borrow some of my pedals but I can’t do that anymore. Gonna have to use latex gloves and disinfect before I assemble the board. image.jpg

I get the incense dust, but how did poop end up on the pedal? Poopy shoes? Diaper change accident? Marshall stack in the bathroom? I want to get to the bottom of this mystery!!!

I've seen someone suggest an alternative to the Marie Condo "does it spark joy" decluttering method, where you consider that if any item in your home had poop in it, would you clean it or throw it away? And use that to measure whether you should keep them or get rid of them.

I guess this answers that question for you! Although tbh I think that method definitely leans more towards "only keep expensive non-porous items that are easy to clean".

Somebody should tell him that he can use his foot instead of his feces —face— to turn on/off pedals.
