My evening entertainment

This tour is the best I've seen him. He's dropped the horns and his other guitar player is just killer and gets to play a LOT.
 
I've always been a fan but this time around I appreciated Josh Smith (didn't know his name) because his solos were so well crafted and spot on as opposed to the deedley blinding flurry of notes that Joe's known for. There's nothing wrong with that (and I'd love to be able to play like that) but song after song it started to pretty much all sound like more of a workout than music.

He gave his singers a lot more spotlight and he looked, sang, and played far more relaxed that I've ever seen him. All in all a great show. And pretty awe inspiring to see a backline of Dumbles. I think Smith was using a Victory and a Two Rock.
 
Bonermaster!

Gotta admit: his signature crybaby is one of the few signature Dunlop models that is actually mostly worth the markup.

Dunlop "Halo" inductor, input and output buffers in SMD parts on the backside of the board, true bypass, 1/2 watt resistors and axial caps for mojo.

They use a mission-engineering-type shell on that one as well: treadle tension adjustment is easy as pie.

Haven't had a chance to trace it all out yet. They've got at least one extra film cap in there, but its a breath of fresh air in comparison to how most signature crybabies are just...well...

Dunno about the JH1B yet, but the original JH-1 was a crybaby with a 22nF range cap. The JH-1 special is the same just with a 470k potentiometer.

The Tom Morello is *just a GCB-95 with a paint job*. Which breaks my heart.

Lots of em are like that. I've heard that the Zakk Wylde model is the JH-1 with metal film resistors.

And they are like, 2x the cost. At least the bonermaster has some actual upgrades.

Oh, you got to see this tour also? This was the fourth time I’ve seen him. He did look more relaxed, almost burned out. He said he pulled his back out on the 2nd song, but still played for 2 hours.
 
Ya know what? I got that wrong. The bonermaster doesn't have the easy treadle adjustment, it's just a lighter enclosure than a traditional cry baby.

Its the CAE model that uses the mission engineering type enclosure.

That's my day job. We build the hi res LED walls and shoot events. It's usually pretty boring (rodeos, conventions, races) but every now and again we get a nice one like this. I got to have a small interaction with JB backstage and I gotta say, he's as down to earth as he seems!
I'm kinda glad some asshat pirated the show and posted it on youtube so I could share it in clear conscious.
