Mouser BOMs with better parts quality?

Feel like French fried onions could be good on a dog but never tried it before. When I was a kid I started putting mayonnaise and salsa on my dogs, still do sometimes. But apparently all hotdogs are poison now, tap water too for some reason. I don’t know things are weird out there.

I would pay to see this guy import his first BOM from Aion into Mouser only to find that half of the parts are backordered until 2027, while half of the remaining parts are EOL and not stocked. Never had luck with those and very rarely can you get everything you need in one stop.

I would also pay to see this guy solder up his first Aion daughter board and question all of his life choices.

This is not a knock of Aion so much as every company has a different way of doing things, and Robert nailed it when he said this community/site puts a bit more emphasis on the Y in DIY.

I couldn’t tell - some of you don’t like using the Mouser or Digi-Key parametric search? Or did I miss the sarcasm?

I find using those search tools really satisfying. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it therapeutic, but it is a bit of a treat when I get to search for (some) parts.

Although, after repeatedly buying smaller lots of common value resistors and capacitors, I finally realized buying 100 (or more) lots of certain components is the way to go! I’d definitely have saved some money in shipping over the years if I’d had that realization sooner!

I always assumed a lot of people here are like me, and have enough parts on hand to cover most of the BOMs of most projects. I mean, if it’s an overdrive with tl072 and clipping diodes, I’m sure I’ve got all the parts on hand (to build 20 of them)!

But to get back to the thread topic. I used to be a ketchup on my hotdog guy… until I moved to the Chicago area, where that is a crime punishable by flaying. Now mustard is the go to, but if I have the stuff, it’s gotta be Chicago style: Vienna beef dog, bun-length spear pickle, minced onions, sweet relish, tomatoes, sport peppers, yellow mustard, celery salt, poppyseed bun.

But I also like chili dogs, or chili cheese dogs.

I put both ketchup and mustard on corn dogs (and bagel dogs).

I like to make “hot dog rollups” sometimes: hot dog in a tortilla with shredded cheese. Microwave so the dog is hot and cheese is melted. I use ketchup and mustard for that.

Another good use for hotdogs: cut them up into pieces, and mix in with peas and mac and cheese. That’s a health food!

I was thinking about this.

Here in Europe ordering a Musikding kit of a pedal PCB project is normally about the same price as ordering the bits.
It gets cheaper as you order more parts obviously , but your first project ordering 100 1k ohm resistors seems a bit much.

But Musikding is good... someone should start an American version.

I thought about offering kits for my boards, but gave up because it was a pain in the ass. Ordering enough parts to assemble the kits, pulling all the parts and packaging them in individual small bags with labels, it's just a big headache. I love that Klaus at Musikding offers this and I'm glad he even offers it for some of my projects, but I now completely understand why more companies don't offer it.

Yeah it's mad he does, individual resistors labeled up.
But really good, I guess he has the benefit of bulk buying and supplying so many PCB suppliers - predrilled enclosures and some components cheaper than you can get elsewhere.

The lack of high quality hot dog boms is really depressing. My sous chef friend told me that the best ingredients come from Whole Foods and not HEB. Please provide me high quality boms for Whole Foods for these or I will be forced to complain LOUDLY for many posts explaining my exceptional superiority smoking cheeses with artisanal wood chips. I am also on the spectrum so please excuse the fact I am insulting you all.
