The answer to the above question is to flex, talk shit, and post memes. But, before I get into that, let’s talk about my build. I’ve built one of these before and about a month before this contest came into fruition, I decided to build another dm-2 Blackhat edition just to use up the garbage I have left in my inventory. It’s happenstance that this worked out the way it did. As far as this circuit goes, It’s definitely not an original but, it is a modification to the Boss DM-2 done by yours truly on EAGLE thanks to @bean and his library. First off, is the obligatory true bypass modification. Second is dual V3205 delay chips. Why 3205s? Because they don’t get enough love and I think they sound better than the MN3005. How’s that for a hot take and unpopular opinion? Third modification is, I eliminated every electrolytic in the audio path I could, and substituted film caps instead. I also went out of my way to separate the power and delay lines on separate pcb layers to eliminate noise and hiss. This resulted in the lowest noise floor, analog delay, that I have ever built or played. Not bad for a useless middle aged hack, who just solders shit together in his garage. There’s probably more to add as far as modifications go but, who really cares at this point? I didn’t do anything special. The truth of the matter is, I’ve copied and pasted shit of “my own design” from the real heavy hitters who’ve come before me and called it my own. As I’ve already said, I’m just a hack who solders shit together in his garage.

Before I go and disappear back under my rock, I’d love to see some real god damn builds in this thread and make a curmudgeon such as myself look like a real dickhead. I know that you’re out there so, let’s see it. Maybe those folks I gave boards to will actually build them?

For the record… I think that @BuddytheReow is not a separate person but, multiple personalities and online personas of every cat loving member of the forum. Seriously… y’all are just one guy right? I also think that @Stickman393 is just an early 2000s adobe flash game come to life, and not a real human.

Also for the record… even though evidence points to the contrary… @PedalPCB and @Robert are not the same person. @PedalPCB is an AI driven moderator and @Robert reminds me of a dude I knew, who liked to smoke schwag and repair stereos. Or maybe it was televisions… either way, I left bro’s house contemplating my place in the universe and wanting to eat oatmeal cookies. I don’t even like oatmeal cookies.

No further than Atlanta airport. Have you ever done a stint in North East Ohio? If not, then you have a doppelgänger there 🤣.

I don’t think the dude I knew repairs televisions anymore either… or stereos… or whatever the hell he did. I think dude’s weed is still affecting me 20 years later. That shit opened doors that still haven’t closed 🤣.
 
You know, I take ONE weekend off of here. ONE....

We are one week and about 100 posts in and it looks like most of you have decided to shoot your shot with your hate memes. Unfortunately, none of them count for purposes of this contest. Y'all firing blanks at this point. Even if you were to submit a build now, all memes don't count until after your submission.

We have 2, er, 2.5-3 official entries so far.

@szukalski decided to throw something up 50 posts ago for his "Core Shaper". No hate since then.

@jcpst has 1.5 official entries so far. The half is for the bastardized Clari(not) on a breadboard, but there is no schematic yet. I'll put a pin in that until later. He did, however, post an official submission of his "Texel" build along with a write up. Congrats. You are the first entry!

Then @blackhatboojum decided to knock one out over the weekend with his modded DM-2. Bonus points if you decide to post a sound clip. And on top of that, he's the only one who posted some hate after his build. We have our first official "Hater" in this contest.

I'm hoping to announce prizes this week.
