Is this maybe related to some recent new Big release?Adding a clean blend to your shitty distortion circuit doesn't make it a bass distortion: it makes it a shitty distortion with an additional useless control.

The real issue is using shitty distortion pedals in the first place.Adding a clean blend to your shitty distortion circuit doesn't make it a bass distortion: it makes it a shitty distortion with an additional useless control.
Some of these are factual, some are debatable but the bd-2 is anything but smooth
Yes, but I've seen it done a dozen times. I clean blend could be part of a good bass distortion design, but most often it's tacked on to a circuit that is otherwise optimized for guitar. I think there are more thoughtful approaches that yield better results. Is this maybe related to some recent new Big release?
EXACTLY.Adding a clean blend to your shitty distortion circuit doesn't make it a bass distortion: it makes it a shitty distortion with an additional useless control.
Nah. You've just got a great amp.
Is it a clean boost?I found a PCB I lost a while back in my laundry. Hot take open to interpretation.
No, it’s a ppcb dingo, so a rat with three extra useless controls. Is it a clean boost?
Can confirm: designed a one-knob overdrive and no one wants a PCB.Guitar player: "Pedal X is the greatest pedal evar. It's so dope. It's obviously well designed because it sounds great with my rig with all the knobs at noon and I don't ever have to adjust them."
What do you think about Pedal Y?
Guitar player: "It sounds awesome, but it's not as good as Pedal X."
Why is that?
Guitar player: "Pedal X has more knobs."
