Power and the VU meter board which runs off its own transformer. There is also 2 small transformers (bottom left), to convert the balanced input to unbalanced that goes into the VU board.

That looks killer, man! I've got one of those same VU meters in a Son of Ben Preamp... purely for the nostalgia vibe, of course.

If you cut many rectangular holes in panels/enclosures, you should try out one of these. I got one recently, and they work pretty well.

Been thinking about making one of these for a while, probably won't go the transformer route though and use a DC-DC module for power. I'm also thinking of sandwiching the circuit with a tilt and NE570 companding setup.
