What's your current headache?

mice. every night right about when I am about to go to bed, a goddamm mouse keeps creeping into the kitchen. I killed one with snap trap but his friends seem to have gotten wise. I need a new method. cant use poison cuz its too dangerous around my kids.

My downstairs neighbors stayed up drinking (I assume) until 6AM. I had to wake up at 6:30 anyway, didn't really sleep. Downsides of living in an apartment I guess.

On the other hand, I did get two enclosures drilled right when my wife woke up, so that's a plus. Hopefully it disturbed their sleep at least a little bit.

I use Victor power kill traps where the bar only needs to go 90° and bait them with coconut oil. Works every single time for me. Been using them for years

JHaible Tau 20-Pole Phaser:

Ever so carefully . . . .
1) populated the board - dbl-checking all component values as I went,
2) measured everything for stuffing the guts,
3) wired up all the off board components,
4) checked/verified the supply/distribution voltages,
5) and futz'd with the calibration trimmers.

No joy. Engaged, there is sound, but no phaser effect; just a heavily filtered result with none of the pots behaving a they should. A couple of the toggles alter the filtering (tone), but no phasing effect. This will be a headache to troubleshoot. Tau_Phaser_Gutshot_01.jpg

Dude you went too far with all dem poles. Ease up and be happy like everyone else with 4 poles!!!

Man, I was cheering from the sidelines for you to have an easy flawless build on this one. Now I am scared to finish mine haha. I’m sure you already noticed but there is an IC missing in lower right socket in the photo. I hope your troubleshooting is quick and painless! Godspeed!
Considering I did hear a brief moment of awesome phasing sound, I'm guessing I have an intermittent somewhere.

Be fearless and go forth to build yours out. (y)

But since you heard the phasing, even if for a fraction, means that it's likely one tiny fix away from working! That should be a motivator! <3

Building tone benders, but having no idea really what a tone bender is supposed to sound like.

If someone can link me to a tone bender mk2 and 3 video that displays what they're meant to sound like without being nothing but guitar-face blues bends, that'd be great

It is definitely a motivator; however, my bench time is curtailed with spring household stuff. So, it may be a week or so before sit back down in front of it. :(
