I have one that I was given when I bought a bass starter pack in the late 90's. I may try to mod it one of these days, but for now it's just in a drawer. But I doubt that the person who buys that even plugs it in more than three times, let alone mod it.

It's just gold plated, right? If the case was solid gold, it would be worth more than $13K just for the metal. The price is all about collectibility and how much some schmuck will pay. I wonder how many were made.

The rumor is there were only ever 6 of these made.
I became acquainted with this site specifically as a result of this sort of thing - intentional scarcity as foundation for increased value disturbs me.

They were given to distributors in different territories to celebrate the shipping of 6 million units, they weren't intended for sale to the public yet somehow this one has found its way there.
