Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

Are you willing to deal with both pedals? I surely appreciate your kind offer but don't want to feel like I am taking advantage. So, if you are still willing to have a go, please send me your contact info including a phone number (the shippers like to have a phone number just in case) via email...

Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

It's the purple sparkly powder coat. I use these for my commercial pedals. Before I got fed up with drilling the holes and never getting them quite right (and ruining enclosures in the process) I used to just buy them from Tayda. Now I buy them from Amplifyfun in Portland. He may buy them from...

Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

I'm not quite done, but here's what mine looks like. Another forum user helped me with the graphics, and Spencer at Amplifyfun did the rest! I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

As I mentioned previously, this is about the 12th pedal I have made, not counting the ones I made for resale. No matter how many I do, I still end up making errors like this one because I just cannot visualize things correctly. All I would have needed to get this right the first time was some...

Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

Thanks for your detailed response. This is about the 12th pedal I've built, not counting the dozen I have built for resale, but it is definitely the first two-layer pedal. I definitely fit the two boards together to make sure the fit was perfect. A dry fit is the ONLY fit in this case, because...

Byzantium Flanger - How To Correctly Attach The Stomp Switch (A Build Guide Would Have Helped Immensely)

This is what I get for not making sure there are build instructions before buying all the parts etc. I am in the process of building two of these, one for a friend, one for me. I populated the boards at the same time, but am assembling them one at a time. I totally suck at visualizing in...

Byzantium Flanger Parts Identification, Source, and Build Documentation Issues

I used that BLUE-TACK stuff to hold the headers in place. Worked a treat, and the boards sandwiched together just fine! I found those exact same headers on Tayda but thanks for the link to Amazon. I always like to have more than one parts source in case I don't have enough of an order to justify...

Byzantium Flanger Parts Identification, Source, and Build Documentation Issues

Thanks for the encouragement - I need all I can get! Also, great tip about the smd electrolytics. I have a bunch lying around that I will never likely use due to a design change so I will experiment with your idea on that. Thanks again - Bud

Byzantium Flanger Parts Identification, Source, and Build Documentation Issues

Thank you very very much. Up until reading your post I had absolutely NO idea how to solder the headers. Your idea is great, and that's my goal for today. Visualizing how things go together has always been a major weakness, so thanks again for clarifying this. Before finding your answer, I was...

Absolutely no hurry since I had to re-order pots with the correct format from Tayda which will probably take most of the next week to arrive. But as far as letting me know your PP address and physical address (if you want a bunch of my spare components), you can do that at any time. - Bud

I meant that I usually order 6mm, not 6.35mm shafts. Sorry for the confusion.

As an alternative to any sort of payment, to which you seem to be reluctant to accept, I have another proposition. About a year or so ago, I was on Reddit and found a guy who was giving up pedal building and had a LOT of inventory he wanted to dispose of. We reached an agreement, and I received...

I just looked up the knobs to find they were 6.35mm or 1/4", so I am now re-ordering all four pots to be Alpha (different mounting placement than the Tayda ones I usually order) PC mount types with 6.35mm shafts.

The function/placement of the controls are correct. Design looks fantastic!!!! For pots, I use 7mm or 9/32 drill - 5/16 probably close enough Jacks are 10mm or using a step-bit drill 25/64 - 3/8 probably close enough 3PDT Stomp switch 12mm, or using a step-bit drill 15/32 - 1/2" probably close...

Those look great too, plus not overdoing the colors allows for readable control labels. Nice!
