good question, so i went and tested that... both sides sound equally 'rounded'..
for more context, while i was testing it again i noticed that it's a subtle difference if you are only playing into it clean.
when you put dirt into it though, it is very noticable.
so for example, it sounds okay...
ok, so i've built a stumble and decided i don't completely like the eq voicing, but i do like the idea of it being essentially an effects loop in a pedal.
it is too warm, not enough treble definition for me.
the low cutoff seems fine, it's just too warm overall in the upper frequencies.
i want...
i made the graphics in gimp. i started in gimp with a canvas that is 4.5x2.333 inches, and made the graphics to that format.
then i used the online avery template service to make a prntable pdf using that sized graphic and printed it out
the template was t00-eh2 for the 4.5x2.333 stickers iirc...
Thank you! here's the process i used:
I bought boxes that were already powdercoated in a light color so i wouldn't have to primer them.
the 125b was white, and the 1590b2 was light gray initially, which will work fine as long as it's not too dark a gray.
the holes get drilled first. just have...
it's the method i settled on for both of my builds so far.
i wanted the full experience of doing the whole thing on my first ones... but i'm probably going to just use the tayda service going forward for new ones.. i haven't made up my mind on that one.. but the ones other people have gotten...
build reports in the forums
edit- looking a this a little closer, check this area.. it looks like there's flux goop between your sw and gnd. electrons will try to go everywhere, they're like water in that way
get some iso alch and clean every piece of flux off of that with a toothbrush. be picky about it. testing won't mean anything until you do.
i'm new to building and just did a clean boost that had persistent pot wiper noise issues and an led that would not fully go off after i swapped some...
i found a 1590b variant that is the same footprint as a regular 1590b, but it's called 1590b2 and is 1.5" tall instead of just 1".. nice when you want something small bur still want room for jacks, lol... it looks nicer next to a 125b too..
i just built a mk4.23 clone (pedalpcb transcendance boost) and imo it beats the microamp. it fits in a 1590b, same size as the micro amp.
that transcendance is clean af and louder than the micro amp
No.
It literally takes exactly what you have already and makes it louder.
doesn't touch the eq voicing at all otherwise.
so everything is clean and clear
I'm using it as the last always on pedal before the amp right now. it's great for hitting input tubes
That's why i prefer it over the...
Thank you! this one's got a charge pump in it so that is done internally already.
i built this because i kept using a tumnus deluxe with all the controls at noon and the gain all the way down
..which is just a clean boost with extra steps.
If that sounds like you, just build this.
This boost is clean and loud. The noise floor is also ridiculously low.
it fits inside a 1590b, but i ended up using a 1590b2 instead to make it match the height of my 125b box pedals better
It kicked my micro amp to the curb so i made it look like a total imposter.
this got me thinking, so i scrubbed the pc board with iso again because i forgot to clean it up after swapping the caps and pots for the new ones.
it also dawned on me that when one clearcoats a finish.. wherever the clear paint hits, will be painted. even if it's just overspray. so i sanded the...
