Convention means the way everyone else does it. I drew the symbols in my CAD library years ago, so any mistake I made then has continued since then and I haven't gone through and fixed it.

Well I kinda know that feeling hahaha. But don't the pots work backwards when drawing the board or is it just at the schem level?
Anyway, thank God I asked hahahaha that just looked weird to me

It's just on the schematic level, the boards are designed for everything to work correctly. So you could say the PCB is fine but the schematic and PCB technically don't agree.Oh I see!

This is conceived only as a preamp, but something like this into a cabsim is a solid easy recording solution.
Excellent! Thanks for clearing that out. I think I'm gonna try wiring the output into something like Valvewizard's cabsim!

Sorry for being a bit inquisitive or asking the obvious but I noticed there's a 220k resistor right before the PA Master Out pot. I guess it's there to pad the output from being too hot.
My questions are:
- do I want that resistor if I plug the PA output into an amp or a poweramp?
- do I want that resistor if I plug the PA output into a cabsim like Valwizard's?
I've attached the Valvewizard Cabsim schem just in case.

Correct, the inductor (L1) can go either direction, it doesn't matter.Hello,
im building the PA, both the kit from Musikding, im in Germany.
just the be sure/safe: L1 does not have a "build direction" like the elkos? I can solder that both ways.

I built this thing and I've got some hiss going on in the background. Is this inherent to the design or is there something I might have done wrong? It's not huge hiss but it's not dead silent if you know what I mean. Very nice sound BTW.

It should be pretty well dead silent, but power supply choice (you need at least 400mA) or tube choice (some are inherently noisier than others) will affect it.
I used the Musikding kit....
I also tried different tubes (JJ/Telefunken)....
Any help/advice is very appreciated

Assuming that's the typical 1700mA OneSpot I'm familiar with, I would expect that to run pretty quiet. Can we see a picture of your build? Particularly interested in lead dress i.e. what your wires look like and where they're going. Also, how much hiss are we talking about here?
Here are some audios for you to check this hiss thing.
Clips were recorded using a Strat into the pedal, into a line input, a Hi-Z input and a mic input. First bit of playing is always bypassed.
Settings are the same on all clips except on one HiZ where I had to adjust the input gain.
