SOLVED Fuzz is backwards and sounds horrible.

What would cause a pedal to have the effect active when LED is not on, but bypass when switch turns LED on? LED wired wrong?

Can you post some pictures of your build? Most likely the 3pdt stomp switch is wired incorrectly.

Because the breakout board is set up for a dual LED (the ones with three legs that are one color in the off state and another color in the on state). You have the leads from your two legged LED soldered to the off state pads.

ill just wire them to the pcb. Thank you!! Now, to figure out why it sounds like absolute ass. Super fizzy, no sustain, and only responds to really aggressive pick attacks, and then, just barely.

If that's the case you either have a cold solder joint or a wrong component value. Double check your board against the build docs.
