Chasing Tayda Powedercoated Screw Holes

It seems with each Tayda powdercoated enclosure there is one hole that is gummed up with excess powerdercoating.

The thread pitch on these holes is M3 x .75. Naturally that is the ONE tap I am missing, but I suspect not having the one tool you need is a universal struggle.

Hope this is helpful!

This might not be the best practice, but I use a drill on the high torque setting to slowly, carefully drive the screws into the holes. I've done this for maybe 20 boxes without any problems. Just make sure you use a perfectly fitting bit and apply a decent amount of pressure so it doesn't slip and grind out the head.

Ive snapped the screw head off doing this then it gets real fun. I wouldnt recommend, but ymmv

I remember the good old days when Tayda enclosures came without overspray on the inside and in the screw holes
So they started offering a masking service, i actually ordered this once. Last batch of ecnlosures i ordered i noticed it was no longer available and i didnt have any issues with the paint in the threads (these were ordered prob mid june ish).

I think they pulled the option last time they got real backed up
